definitely! we'll be without a gas station from Friday morning until Sunday afternoon so you'll definitely need 10 gallons of gas to make it till Sunday.

Definitely looking forward to it. I'll have food, a shit load of water, also have a 5 gallon water can, (2) 5 gallon fuel cans, bunch of tools, full size spare, usual camping stuff, 2 tow straps, 4 d shackles, firewood, pair of TREs, pair of LBJs, assortment of nuts and bolts, cv axle. And more crap I can't think of right now. Oh and BTW I'm 4wd [IMG].

As for comms I have FRS, CB, and I'm a newbie HAM. Looks like you guys run race radios. So...I think I can recieve but can't transmit???

it's nice to have a 4wd since most of us are prerunners. what kind of ham radio do you have? regardless, it's more important to be able to listen.

Hey guys I was watching TV last night and saw a commercial for a new episode of top gear america. its gonna air this sunday on the history channel and they are going to be taking a jeep, bronco, and a blazer on what sounds like a very similar route. there going from mojave to vegas. i thought this was really cool and with perfect timing. maybe some of you can watch it and let the rest of us know if this indeed the route or parts of the route this trip will be planned to do.

james has a mojave book and we're going to start planning very soon. I'm thinking we should drive the fwy straight to camp and set up. then we'll have the rest of the day/night to explore, plus the next day. if we explore on the way to camp we might not get a good camp spot.

    don't bother...

running Ham and CB together, i have fried 3 CB radios already...

i think with the power of the Ham/race, it just screws up the CB...
