This sounds like a good time, hopefully i can make this and not have to work that weekend. I just moved to barstow and been wanting to get out in the desert with other trucks instead of lone rangerin it and getting stranded

    What to bring

    - Plenty of water. It's hot and dry in the desert and you'll be drinking more water than you think.
    - Race radio channel 153.110

    - Tow strap with at least one shackle. If someone is stuck to the axles, we'll need all tow straps.
    - GPS
    - Map of Mojave Desert
    - 10 gallons extra gas minimum but 15 gallons will be plenty.
    - Firewood for two nights
    - Matches/lighters
    - Tent
    - Sleeping bag
    - Lanterns/flashlights
    - Food/drink to last 3 days
    - Toilet paper and baby wipes
    - Camera
    - Spare parts
    - Full size spare tire (at least 1)
    - Set of tools
    - At least $20 in cash in small denominations (for campgrounds)
    - First aid kit

    Itinerary

5:30am - McDonalds parking lot off the 15 fwy at Sierra for those who want to caravan to Barstow. Leave at 5:45am.

7am - Arco gas station in Barstow at Outlet Center Drive. Top off gas and get ice.

7:30am - Leave Arco and head to Harvard Rd. and into the desert. If I can't figure out the the route from Harvard Rd. to Afton Canyon we get off the fwy at Afton canyon and head into the desert from there.

Ok guys I was thinking about bringing a little charcoal grill and buying some hot dogs and hamburgers for say Friday night dinner. Do you guys have any preference on the patties, maybe chicken instead of beef or?

Like last year i will be bringing some good Hard wood, OAK Long burning wood as well as greg will be bringing the same. I will be rapping it up in a tarp first before strapping it down so i dont have the same problems as last year.:D

Cant wait to get out there. 3 more days and a wake up peoples!:D

Matt and I are collecting wood from his back yard. He's got these huge long-burning rounds to burn.

I wish there were more people from SD coming up as well. Guess they're all doing Pismo so they gotta choose one or the other. I think I'll like this more as I'll be getting stuck a lot less than I would at Pismo.

I just ran through Harvard Rd. to Afton Canyon on G-Earth. My only question is: When do we cross the tracks into Afton Canyon?

Once we hit the train tracks, there's a bridge that we drive under and that road takes us into Afton Canyon.
