Yes but I was very careful with it and packed it back up just like I bought it so I can return it for a full refund.

Unless TSF got a TON of snow within the week, there will be a bit but not unmanageable I think. Found some vids from the 12th and it looked brown instead of white. Lee's Camp cam looked like road was clear as well.

I'm still going, but might be late meeting up because I have to wait for my brother to drive up. Poor guy was still at work at 8pm so hoping he can get awake soon enough.

Before you get reading too far, I so far believe that tomorrow will be all systems go.

However, I want to address this:

It doesn't take much snow to change what you are dealing with in TSF - slickness, white-outs, and daylight are also a factor.

I'm a pessimist and consider how likely we are to get stuck and work back from that. It's healthy to assess the situation and be properly prepared, and continuously re-assess as the day goes on.

Last month when Motive flopped, we had 4 other vehicles, but only one had the recovery gear to actually provide any help.

Below is a pre-run trip I went on the week before black friday. I was the least equipped vehicle and had the worst tires. The two other drivers were very accomplished offroaders, one of whom had attended professional training. Even still, all it took was a momentary gawking off that caused one of us to steer off the road a bit too much, resulting in a fairly advanced recovery procedure.

Exactly. My new tires are screaming to be fed, so I'm going to be pissed if this doesn't work out.

Just some info, although its on the other end of the Valley. I traveled over HWY 58 this evening, peeks at 5200 ft (plus or minus), all the snow on the main road was gone. Down to bare pavement, stopped at a trail spot around 4000ft and was no problem. But be careful fellas!!!!!!

I've been checking Lee's Camp on tripcheck. In the morning I saw barely enough to give kids a snow day, at lunch it was gone, and now it looks like what I saw in the morning. The snow advisory says 1 inch roadside at the pass. Looking at Government Camp, which is kinda a good indicator of snow in other areas, the roads are clear.

I'm guessing we will see some, but I'm not expecting that it will make us turn back.

Can't wait guys, should be fun. My buddy may or may not be able to go, won't really know until pretty much right up to the deadline but I'm going reguradless heh.

Picked up an axe at harbor freight since it's a good thing to have, plus I have some (though poor) selection of random tools, tow strap, shackles, cameras, multitool, and I'm going to pick up water and tigers milk bars.
