Looks like fun! I'd stop by but I'm busy cutting down a third world rain forest. Don't forget to have updated permits! Tillamook sherif is extra willing to write you a nice ticket.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
I was about to hit like... then I didn't like the part we lost another person.

@stikle are you feeling well enough to come?
@Bennett707 are you coming for the whole evening, or just for some dinner and hanging out?
@JoeTacoma02 are you still wanting to come, just for the evening, camping, or...?

    my plan for friday;

    help obtain a campsite
    assist in relay of info

i'd like to hit a few trails, nothing serious, just haven't been in the woods for a while and would like to see something other than pavement. i see enough pavement at work.

i'll likely stay until 6 to see hands and shake faces. depends on the festivities i have to plan for my kid brothers graduation saturday.

with that said i don't live very far, if ppl need to leave vehicles somewhere you are more than welcome to park them at my place. I have enough space for 4-6 more vehicles at my house

i want to second Mike's suggestion on garbage bags

although I have not known TSF trails to be dirty, it's nice to be able to clean up as we ride.

Haven't heard from him. He popped in to respond to a different PM topic, but I'm guessing there's a lot of busy stuff he's involved in.

Sorry to hear. I will update the first thread here in a second

    Thanks, adding this too.

When did ODF become sticklers about posting events and needing rosters and stuff? Not bitching, just curious if they had some bad stuff go down or something.

From what has been posted here it had something to do with the event being "advertised" or posted on this forum which changed the game?

Tentatively, yes. (Oooh...look who's typing with two hands today! (Mouse is a different story))

I've got my one week post-op appointment today at 1, so hopefully he'll take this brace off. I've got light grip back in my hand now. Turning a doorknob is proving challenging, but I'm working on it. I've been out and about in the Taco the last couple days, and it's not a problem driving - benefit of the automatic. I just have to turn the key with the opposite hand for now.

My hi-lift showed up yesterday, so yay for that...although using it would probably be damn near impossible right now. Maybe.

My only hesitation with the camping aspect is the tent setup. It can be a pain with two hands. Perhaps I'll bring some of the finest from Bribery Brewery (Corona) in case I need assistance.

Worst case is that I just make Saturday a day trip to TSF and don't stay over...although it feels like a cop-out to even say that. Grow a pair man!

What happened is that we were trying to be good stewards by giving advance notice, and letting them know we had a group. We asked if that weekend would be busy, and thought that getting on their official calendar would give better visibility of what was going on for that weekend as well.
Apparently that got misconstrued as an official event, which requires 1 year advance notice, liability insurance, community service work, and on-site EMTs with the works (@Mitch did not volunteer to take the ambulance on FB5)
There was a lot of confusion, but we got in touch with a guy who deals with the offroading part of the forest more, and was able to explain things. However, this particular thread is being (possibly) actively watched, and we have a certain set of guidelines to follow this year to prove we aren't doing something illegal or abusive - it doesn't matter if you've participated in trail maintenance, cleanup events, or have any special connections, all which I know some of us have/have done. We especially need to make sure that this year we are examples so they don't have any questions for years to come.

Speaking of which, everyone needs to make sure they have the following on their vehicle at all times. It may be good to bring extra if someone forgets. Those that forget will need to park their rides, or we go into town to buy stuff.
    • 1 gallon of water or a 2.5 pound fire extinguisher
    • 1 shovel with an 8 inch blade and at least 26 inches long from the tip of the blade to the tip of the handle

Ah, that makes sense. I was confused. Getting worried they were getting weird and trying to clamp down on forum runs or something.

Since it's not as hot as the pits of hell here today I'm gonna put my transfer case skid on finally. If I'm feeling really ambitious I might do my under good lights but we shall see. Tomorrow is last minute packing and hoping I don't forget anything. Lol
