Eh, see my Build Thread sig link. Too many mods to list.
If I'm reading things right, looks like the forecast is calling for showers. I know...in Oregon? What?

You just have to be positive and remember it's God's way of forcing the dirty hippies to take a shower

    I'm due for my bi-yearly bath. :D

I'm actually thinking cool weather and rain showers won't really be a bad thing. I'd rather there wasn't a downpour, but I'm up for wheeling no matter what. Except windstorms.... Fuck the wind.

It'd be nice if the dust was settled and if the, as I call them, driving into the abyss spots weren't so bad (going from a shaded to extreme bright/dust mix or vice versa)

Just got word back from our contact at the State Forest Dept: Rule for campgrounds is that we must fit within the parking spaces such that we don't block traffic. We need to be extra mindful of large vehicles, especially ones with trailers, who may be making that turn, and ensure that we are not inhibiting them.
Other than that - free game!

Based on how things are going on for me this week and what I've still got to do tonight, I won't be getting out there until tomorrow morning.

So you newcomers know, the first night is sort of like an unofficial potluck - there's no requirement to bring anything, but some of us do and take pride in it. I felt guilty about not having anything, so I'm trying to do a pull-apart sandwich:
    take french bread loaf
cut it into sections, but not all the way
stuff every other section with meat/cheese
    wrap in aluminum foil
    hopefully cook without burning

Being creative around food is not a gift I have, nor is packing food for camping, so I'm really trying.
I also have a simple marshmallow recipe that is easy enough for even my simple mind, and should be really good.
I also have cookie butter. I's basically cookies that have been made into a spread. Yes, it's like eating a sugar cookie in peanut-butter like consistency. I plan on bartering some for a biscuit condom and maybe pancakes ;)

Awesome, I'll bring something tasty and easy. That French bread sounds damn good.

Don't strain, we have my french bread sandwiches, pulled pork from Brady, and possibly even steaks if James is keeping tradition. I've got a whole thing of chips ahoy cookies that I'm not going to eat myself I hope, either.

ARgh I hate this, I'm thinking about how I need to pack everything up, triple check over what I may have forgot, and get to bed before it ends up being tomorrow, but I have 5 more hours to punch.

Sorry I've been so out of the loop, but I'm here!

Good news, fire bans are not in effect (check the Map tool):
    http://www.oregon.gov/ODF/Fire/Pages/Restrictions.aspx

Bad news: Firestone fucked up my driver's-side cam tabs yesterday, but it's not a big deal - the truck drives (pretty) straight. I just have to fight them to buy me a set of TC replacements and see if they'll cover the cost of removal/install - but I don't really have the time or energy to do that today. I at least took pictures and will stop by there today to show them (so they can't say I fucked them up myself while wheeling)

I hope to head down there around 1:00 tomorrow, and make it to camp by about 5:00'ish. I have a couple stops to make on the way to pick up some trail spares in Hillsboro and a wheel from @windsor.

I need to finish a couple things on the truck tonight, go food/bev shopping and pack up.

    That sucks!

I have a set of TC cam tab gussets that I haven't installed. I got them from TW secret Santa. I'm hoping I can get them on before something like this happens to me.

Yeah, it was kind of a matter of time...those are a known weak point on the Taco. I'm debating just pounding it back, and running a fat bead behind each one as a temp. fix until I can install the TC ones, but that'll mean more grinding/cleanup when it comes time to do that.

I'm going to get the majority of my food tomorrow before getting into the forest. Minimize ice melt and all that fun stuff

Your pics don't work at work here, so I will do like they taught me on Sesame Street and use my imagination
Provided I'm 'seeing' the same thing, they did that to me too, but I didn't catch them. I was able to use a cheap HF chisel and pound them back.
If you order any of those gussets, I'll be in for a pair. Gives me an excuse to do them and an excuse to come visit again ;)

lol, it's been lightly raining since about 12:20. I'm glad I cut up and packed up that wood from the back yard over the weekend. Unfortunately it's junk wood and will probably last 2 hours tops.
Here's hoping we remain dry at night. I sleep through just about anything, so I may have to loop a recovery strap around my ankle to keep me from floating off.

Thank God this trip is this weekend. My wife is being a bitch. And I'm assuming the weekend is going to be really bad with her sister here.

I'll have some decent wood, not much but should burn for a bit and its dry/seasoned.
