    @Chickenmunga let's cap it.

    As long as I can play Friday with a few of you that I've wheeled with, I can lead the beginners Saturday if there are some who want to just try things out.

    I can't read trail maps for shit. Maybe it's because the TSF one is so confuzzling. Or I'm just an idiot. Or both. :notsure:

    There's probably a nicer one available online, I didn't bother to look. I was bored at work so took some pics and tried stitching them together...for no particular reason. Close enough.

    Max group size I would suggest would be 8, but smaller is preferred. The hard part is determining who wants to be in what group
    If at all possible, the lead and the tail should both be the best kitted, and have comms. One winch per group minimum is a good idea for the few times when they are needed.
    The map is better than the last version, but it's still confusing. We talked to a ranger once and asked him where we were on the map, and they said, "hell, I don't know."
    I would recommend grabbing a tablet or phone and getting either the maplets version, OSMand, backcountry navigator, etc. I haven't figured out which one is the best, it would be cool to have a few people load different apps to their devices, put them all in the same vehicle, and do a compare. If we get the availability I'd like to try that and see how easy it is to navigate from Brown's Camp to the top of Cedar Tree.
    I don't think there's ever an outing where we aren't analyzing the map.

    FYI, make sure you are at the camp (wherever that is, still TBA) early enough that we haven't left for trails, otherwise it's really tough to find anyone. Groups head out from the camp to the trails 9:30/10am

    The best way to divvy up the groups would be preferred trail difficulty I guess.

    Good and bad news on the Browns Camp.

    Group reservation site is available if we want to book it. Extra vehicles are also allowed at the day use site overnight, as long as you pay for the vehicle pass for those nights.

    Bad news. She says that the Jeep Jamboree is going on at TSF that weekend. Though they are staging out of Tillamook County Fairgrounds, it looks like they will be using all of the trails...

    What do we want to do?

    I would suggest switching weekends, because that is seriously going to delay being able to do anything. It's an offroad equivalent of Black Friday at the mall.

    Crap. STOOOOOPID JEEPS!

    Well, I think Ben had a problem with the following weekend, so...

    How about the weekend of Friday June 23rd? That works out good for me as that's the start of my 2 week vaca.

    So since it's convenient for me, I'll submit that date to the group. Let it be written, let it be done.
