What's the turnaround time for the OHV permit if I buy it online? Should I just get one Friday from an agent when I roll into town?

Mike - I'll be rolling in early Friday afternoon and leaving later on Sunday.

Never mind about the permit question. I guess you get a version you can print out.

Also I'm bringing a 6' trailer that has my RTT and camping stuff. Assuming that isn't an issue, correct?

I'll check my glove box to see if I have a second one still. It would only be good for this trip for you if I did.

No worries for me, Brady I already ordered one - in case somebody else needs it. Thanks though!

I was trying to limit trailers due to the number of people camping but small trailers might be alright if you don't mind taking it on a minor bit of offroading to get to the camp, if we use the dispersed site. Rob is bringing one, and Anton is bringing a 20' since he's trailering, but Anton is only there for the day.

    The big trick is this:
According to the letter of the law, campsites have a maximum limit of 2 vehicles per site, with a maximum person limit of 8 people.
However, we have consistently packed at least 4 vehicles at site 16 and only have been warned not to block the loop with any parked vehicles. Rob and I were trying to recall, and that spot can get up near 8 - 9 vehicles, not that we camped that many rigs from my memory.

Additionally, I'm pretty positive the neighboring staging area is day use only, so you can't park trailers there overnight, nor could we do something where trailers took up a parking spot while their rig was overnight in staging.

Over to dispersed, none of this matters, other than Anton's big trailer wouldn't fit there (we would have to meet up with him) and depending on your trailer/actual space, you may be parking on a nearby spur to the actual camp.

Over on ADVRider we were trying to figure out if Discover Passes counted as an OHV pass in Oregon. I don't think we really got anywhere, and you might as well get the pass since it's really not much cash and the Oregon one lasts for a good long time.

I'm parking my trailer at the day use area so that won't cause issues for anyone else.

FYI- I was just there last weekend. The day use area is, in fact, day use only. And directly from a Forest Service employee in a truck's mouth - no usage fee for the day use.

Sucks you won't be around, but if you want to watch demos on how to assemble a camp chair from harvested logs from a guy with a man bun, that's cool. ;)

    Yeah you are totally OK.

So with camping down to 8 rigs and 2 overnight trailers, we are at least getting to a smaller footprint.

Rain will reduce the trail dust your intake sucks in. It's a perk!

I'm not too thrilled about it, but someone in my life has Lyme disease and I'm sort of their "safe/comfort person" and they had a flare up so I have to stay behind to keep them calm. I still might make it out but I kind of doubt it. I'll update Friday if things calm down enough for me to come play.

I've never been so busy before vacation. Ugh. It's not even planned stuff, just random emergency garbage at work. I haven't been focusing much on this like I usually would, but at least I've got pretty much all my gear together.

    Still going to be magic

Sorry to hear that, but it's understandable. We'll do a cell run every so often Friday to get/send updates

I've got everything staged in the garage (I.E. One Big Pile) for loading. Just have to pick up foodstuffs tonight.

I'll go ahead and add Hawaiian rolls to my list since someone is being lame and not going. And I'll make some breakfast burritos.

I also halfassed my planning. I bought the pop-up porta potty tent but didn't get the bucket/seat/liners, so if we end up REALLY dispersed well...yeah.
