Added info on the $5 fee. Is there any camping fees? rules on fires?

People who are camping, please say so, along with any group stuff you are bringing.

You people won't drive far enough to go to the more interesting stuff. :D

god, you should steal the tires off the Ranger in front of my apartment. After the snow storm, it was sitting for about 2 weeks with a flat. After that, someone stuck a set of what looks like new tires and rims on with a 5th in the bed. It's been high-centered on an aluminum rim since they did the replacement and has never moved.

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
Can we start a list of those camping please? Maybe put an ampersand behind each name on the attendee list that plans to camp?

Also, can we add some details to the event in 1st post that covers camping.

My earlier post has a good link to lots of info on Sand Lake, including all the many campgrounds and fees.

My recommendation is for Derrick Rd Campground. It's the cheapest, at $10 a night per site and the only downside is no running water. Just walk/drive to one of the other camping areas for the water... or fill a few gallons before you head out.

The best thing is it's"dispersed" meaning no intsy-bitsy campsites. You pull off the gravel road and camp... grow your site as large as you grow it.

There are fire rings and no fire restrictions.

I just cut down a bunch of dead fruit trees and will bring all the firewood we need.

I'll bring a tent trailer (not sharing, sorry) but you can stop in in the AM for coffee. I'll brew up as much as everyone can drink, just bring your own mug.

Will bring two gas grills and you can all cook on them to your hearts content.. cook a steak, veggie burger, dog, neighbors cat, whatever.

I've also got several large 14' x 20' tarps we can string up in the trees (yes, there are lots of trees in this area) to provide some good dry areas if the weather is wet.

I'll bring my dog. You are all welcome to pet her. SHe is 13 and loves attention.

Let's get this thing organized already.

Looking over the thread looks like at least 6 folks want to camp.

BTW, sounds like there is some interest in Friday night also. I would be willing to drive down Friday and stay over both Friday and Saturday nights. Hey, I've got no job to rush back to..

I might camp if I can fetch my camp gear from Salem in the next month. I'll see how it goes.

Also as for shackles... stainless steel zip ties... they'll never fall off! (just have a spare to hook to it in the cab). easy.

Why did you delete the other post? Lol you deleted it before I got to quote it. I would but that would mean I would have to back track to get there and drive back the other direction. Some other time man.

If you are doing it like I think you are, why not just get pipe cleaners at a craft store? you can re-use that.

That way people can't easily jack my stuffz. Besides, it looks badassery leaving them on :)

Also on bumps they make that badass sound like an M1 Grand hitting an empty clip.
