I'll be going as well, but I might have to agree with littlebro, going somewhere else would be a good change. Jonnie had a good idea of going to Hood. Never been wheeling there, only boarding. So the default will be Browns, since I don't think we can convince the whole gitout crew to change locations (there are 13 of them so far, kind of a big crowd...). If anyone is down for a Hood trip, post up. I foresee the plans changing day-of...

Thanks! Your gf didn't happen to get any did she? I don't think I saw anyone else taking pics...totally forgot to get out my GoPro too. Oh well, sounds like I'm making another run up there tomorrow to look for my snatch block.

Cedar Tree and Powerline. Just to large a group to set a good pace.

I'll be heading back to Cedar Tree tomorrow morning. My snatch block didn't get packed up after all our recovery work. Hopefully nobody found it today.

Looks like a fun trip. Power-line roads can be fun. We just got a bunch of snow last night and this morning, but of course its the beginning of the week, and have to work. Snow will probably be crappy by this weekend.

Hey I received this email today thought I would pass the message on.

    Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to give you all the “heads up” about some activity that will be going on in Browns Camp Campground while the campground remains closed.

In the coming weeks, the timber sale that is operating behind the campground will be hauling logs out Scoggins Road through Browns Camp Campground. While the timber hauling is going on, the gate to the campground will be open daily. While it might be tempting to camp or stage in Browns Camp, please don’t. The gate will be closed and locked at the end of each day meaning that anyone who parks in the facility runs the risk of being trapped when the loggers leave.

If you do get locked behind the gate to Browns Camp and can find cell service, you can call the Forest Grove District Office Monday – Friday, 8AM – 5PM for help at 503.357.2191. After hours or on weekends you can call the Tillamook County non-Emergency dispatch number at 503.815.3911.

The trails in the Browns Camp are open, unless noted on the OHV Trail Report, remain open. The campground will re-open to the public in April 2013.

    Happy Holidays!

    Found my snatch block!
    DSC_0212_zps9feefca4_f396d6134a11b50d9b63150f0afb37db636a99f6.jpg

Random pics from the day. Ended up running Powerline, Cedar Tree and then mobbed up to Saddle Up. Headed out from Banks shortly after 8am. Didn't get back on the highway until after 3pm. Got to use the chainsaw on a couple downed trees. Definitely some tow strap and winch use. Awesome snow wheeling though. The weather never warmed up and it went between dumping snow hard and some sunlight here and there. We were in virgin snow the entire day. The weather never turned on us. Didn't see anyone except loggers and some snowmobilers and a run rigs when we were heading out.
