    Annual (?) Winter Camping Trip

    When: February 18, 19
    Where: Jacks River Fields

It's that time again - winter camping! Time to harden up your game - freeze your butts off while eating old, cold freeze dried food. At least you won't need a fridge to keep your drinks cold.

    How's that for marketing?

Trail riding, hiking, hanging out by the fire. Kayak optional.

Jacks River Fields is a quaint, secluded campground is situated on the bank of the south fork of the Jacks River. Surrounded by the yellow poplar, oak, hickory, and white pine forests of north Georgia, these 7 campsites are popular with campers, hikers and equestrians.

Reservations are not accepted. Occupancy of sites are on a first come, first served basis.
    Camping: $5/site/night

This time of year, the campground is only accessible from Blue Ridge.

I’m in, my “classes” I’m taking for work don’t fall on these dates so let’s go. I’ll see if a few buds who rarely traverse TW would join

So a few are interested, I’ll keep them updated as we get closer and closer. 1 RTT the other would be on the ground I think

Last time I did the frog loop I camped out close to tumbling creek and it was niceeee so that's another option? Plus you ain't gotta pay just throwing it out there

    That's an idea.

But, part of Frog Loop is closed for the winter.

Can we get to Tumbling Creek with the current road closure?

I would love to do it and had plans to camp that weekend till daughter made the Jr. High Soccer team. I’m pretty tied up each weekend till April. Keep me in the loop on any other dates. Anything I can make I’ll try and be there.

@Scott B. I'd say if this turns in to a BIG group we might want to try to find some big camp sites? Jones creek campground has HUGE open camping spots @Stormpeacock @banditcamp and I have checked them out, easily fits 8+ rigs

Man I’d love too but I’ll be on my anniversary cruise that week. If it gets push back I could probably make it

    Something to keep in mind.

Jack's River has a good sized equestrian/camping area, for tents and whatnot. We'll see as we get closer.

I know that whole area really well up there honestly for the best and largest area if we have a really good sized group which I will have a few buddies coming as well and we all have RTT is going to be the dispersed camping spot over by lake conasauga district. It's a massive spot and I have the coordinates saved for it. Something to think about and to keep in mind.
