Glad I looked at forums. I found a PUDDLE on my passenger side floorboard. Couldn’t find leak and bringing in to dealer on Monday. They said it’s NOT under Warrenty because I have 45,000 miles. It’s a 2017 TRD Tacoma.
    Suggestions? Thanks guys, Ken

2017 leaking at passenger side floor from under dash here, taking to dealer also. Just got it painted due to clear coat issue. Talk to me Toyota, are your A+ Taco days over?

I just had my 2016 rear high brake light replaced for the tune of $0. I also have 60k miles. I contacted Toyota Motorcorp right off the bat to get a case number because I knew I was well outside warranty and requested a courtesy warranty claim, then went to my dealer who did the inspection and def concurred with replacement due to leaking. Toyota Corp called them and confirmed my multiple purchases over the years from the dealer and said it needed to be replaced, Toyota honored it and gave them approval code and I got it replaced. Took a total of 3 weeks from start to finish from calling corporate and getting approval. The dealer had my truck for an entire day to replace brake light and do a steam cleaning to headliner and top of my back seats due to water stains. To date, No more leaks even with the downpours or taking through a tunnel car wash, and that’s when I first saw it leaking after a car wash.

also, mine didn’t start to leak until 55-57k miles.

Be calm and respectful with talking with the dealership advisors. Try not to get angry or be rude or sarcastic.

so i dropped the truck this morning at the dealer, just got a call from toyota that my warranty expired 2 weeks ago, (3 years) so they will only fix the seal out of courtesy, but won't do anything about my saggy liner or all the wet around or nothing else. wtf toyota!!!
so drop it or pursue it further with toyota? any help would be appreciated guys.

Wow. I wouldn’t blame corporate 100%. It has a lot to do with how dealer expresses the damage to the truck due to seal. Remember, mine was a 2016 with 60k miles so well outside the 30k warranty, I’m not gonna lie though I have a really good relationship with my dealer, service writer, and service manager.

I just bought a 2016 Tacoma about 2 weeks ago and found a wet back seat today. We had a hell of a rain storm last night. I'm going to bring it to the dealer but I'm not the original buyer and I'm not sure of the date of purchase. I'm really hoping they'll take care of it.

My leak seams to be coming from the rear window as opposed to the brake light. I poured water over it and that's what I came up with. I've read that a few other members had the window seal problem. The majority have the brake light leak. My headliner isn't stained either.

Good luck, being a 2016 it's past the 3 year warranty but you might get lucky, I didn't and I was past 2 weeks.
