If the photography bug really bites you, like it did me, you will want the DC.

When you start doing portrait shoots with external lighting, the DC is full of win.

Every time I would load my gear up for a shoot, I would think, "thank god I got the double cab".

I love my DCSB. For me having room to seat 5 people including the driver was a no brainer, my old truck was an extended cab Nissan and the back was way too small. If I were doing it again I might buy a DCLB but it would most certainly be a DC.

I have had both, and I much prefer my DC. You can also hide valuable equipment behind the back seat.

DCSB. Your bikes will fit fine in there, and then it gives you much more secure room for your gear.

    Strongly disagree.

DCLB is too long and looks "weird".

There's never been anything that I wanted to haul, but couldn't, in the three DCSB's that I've owned.

You want more interior room, doesnt the DC have more interiror room than the AC :notsure:

The AC seems like the best balance between interior space and bed capacity, guess what I really should do is go grab everything I was hauling with me on my last road trip adventure plus another carry-on sized bag and see just how much of the AC back that eats up.

KB Voodoo - you make a good point about lighting gear, though 99.9% of what I currently shoot is non-portrait stuff (Nature, landscape, etc), so don't see my lighting needs going beyond a couple speedlights and maybe a couple off-camera stands at most.

Btw, ya'll aren't making this much easier of a decision, I know the DC would certainly be a lot easier to find without having to resort to ordering from the factory. Especially if I end up choosing a harder-to-find color like the Blue Ribbon Metallic on top of the AC style.

You can get a DC w/ a LB. No compromise needed there. If you prefer the AC then get it. But I'd much rather have unneeded space than need space and not have it.

Comes down to what drive train you are getting and personal preference. I think if you are getting the 4 banger, stick with the access cab. If you get the DC get a v6. Personally I would get the AC based on what you have stated.

I bought an '09 Access cab originally and it served my purpose well for almost 4 years. I loved it, but my son is now big enough that he didn't fit comfortably in the back seat and it was fine for just me and my gear and maybe 1 other person. I recently traded it in on a DCSB and I love it so far. I think if you have no kids and don't haul friends or family very often an AC will suit your needs very well.

DCLB looks like a truck. All others look like a Honda Ridgeline.

Thanks for all the feedback. Going to head over to the dealership with some suitcases/gear/etc and test fit it all in both, but think I'm going with the AC.

Now how long do ya'll think it'll be to find a Blue Ribbon Metallic Access Cab TRD Off-Road?

KB Voodoo - nice portfolio. Only portraits I've done were my sister's save-the-date photos. 90% of the reason for the new truck is to pack the photo gear in the back and go find some beautiful places to photograph. A few of mine are posted here (though it could use some updating) http://jonpfischer.com/

I'm running an '09 access cab.

I'm the only one in the truck 95% of the time and wished now I bought a double.
Bed size doesn't bother me too much as I don't haul much and have access to a small trailer whenever I need it.

If I buy Tacoma again, it'll be double short bed as I would like a standard again.

The double cab is infinitely easier to carry things around in, especially photo gear :headbang:

Baby beds look weird. They remind me of the ford explorer truck thingy.

DCSB all the way. More cab space than access cab, and way better looking than a DCLB.
