    Mine is the same age as yours, the prognosis of salvaging the 17 years old mounting hardware is not too encouraging.

    Those usually have a booster in line due to the long route of the cable... My Matrix did.

    Don't have to pull the castle nut to swap the antenna though. It is possible rusted or seized though. Try to unscrew and if it won't budge shoot some pb blast and try again after a bit
