Alright well I was excited to learn more about the diode dynamics drl and I figured out how to install them with a quick poke and minimal splicing of the harness. Ill make a full write up after install.

The main thing I learned is that the new drl should only need to run to the old drl & turn signal hot wire, no parking light. The drl has two 12V positive leads and 1 ground, all 3 of which you want to tap into. One of them is for hi-led (low beams off) and the other for dim-led(lowbeams on). These correspond to the red/white wires on the DD drl harness. I'm likely going to cut the female plug from the factory drl and solder it to the DD to make my own pigtail (will find out correct part number) so that 3 out of 4 wires are plug n' play with respect to the factory harness. The 4th yellow wire I'll posi-tap into the right/left turn signals for amber switchback.

does the DD board have 4 wires?
    Ground
    Turn
    DRL low
    DRL high??

Just remember if you splice both factory DRL wires into ONE DD input be sure to diode isolate them, that way there is no backfeed into the other DRL wire(when it is supposed to be off)

Edit.. I didn't read the entire post.. gusss they do,, sweet! Plug and play(well solder) then just tap the turn signal

Thanks for the info! Looking forward to the write up. Hope the install goes well for you. I think that making your own pigtail is smart, and probably the route i'll go as well.

Both housings opened up, did one last night and one this morning, no serious issues that the heat won't fix putting back together. Funny, last night it took me about 2 hours to get the first one open and this morning it took about 15 minutes.

    Time for the fun part!

Are you guys prepping the chrome surrounds by scuffing or just painting direct over the shiny surface?
