Yep, early adopter 2016 from my 2015, had two of them a DCLB SR5 and TRD OR DCSB, had rear diff hum (replaced twice), had whistling control arms (had plugs installed as TSB), had the passenger side dash stereo speaker cover rattle, underfilled transmission on the SR5. Nothing crazy though and the diff hum ended up being considered normal later into the gen (after they gave me a complimentary warranty lol).

Per the trucks marked sold and in ground status on the allocation report....1196. Another 571 showing ground status so no telling if they have been sold or not.

My ‘16 had minor issues & recalls but nothing that would’ve prevented it from lasting 300k mi.

However, unlike the newbie, that one wasn’t a ground-up new design. Nor did it have a price that made people lose control of their bladder.

Probably best to wait a year or four….

Should we tell him there’s a guy on the 3G forum who just got his 23 and has a CEL?

News flash: machines with thousands of parts may breakdown or not be perfect out of box!

With Toyota it’s easy for the techs to get a little spoiled since the brand is built on reliability and very service and maintenance focused. Now as new technology gets introduced the techs will need additional training in order to be able to actually FIX and REPAIR things. Imagine that. Or as The Car Care Nut is fond of saying, “It’s easier for them to fire the parts cannon.” It’s rare these days for young people to want to enter into the automotive repair field. With the huge investment in tools required and the archaic flat rate based commission pay structure most dealerships operate under, there are just too many other more lucrative careers to get plugged into.

I don’t click on that site. I’ve already had my fair share of STDs. Watch this instead. It’s rad:

Got banned from that site after posting in there thread calling out some members for saying "the other site" (TW) and 3rd genners need to stop their doomsday party. That site has to be modded by some tool bag for sure, like the freaking cult over there.

I'm on that forum as well, but it feels a bit sanitary without the subtle shitposting that goes on over here.

Speaking of shitposting, this is what the 3rd gen Tacoma looks like to me after owning a 4th gen for a while.
