Ahhh this is one of things on my list of faux-pas from yesterday. On the plus side, I can really get to everything pretty easily.

The negative cable on battery is disconnected; positive still attached. I usually have both of them off, but wasn't sure if overkill.

Is this behemoth the right one?

You don't need both cables unhooked, just one to depower the vehicle.
    Yes that is the ABS.

Since we know what we are after you can just go from 6 to 4 or 5 and 16, doing the others would be redundant.

I'm measuring at DLC. Skid header below just references what was unplugged.

    Skid still disconnected.
    Battery now connected.
Combo meter still has resistor in it.
    KOEO

The OBD/Can Tool (orange handheld thing from earlier photos) didn't connect.
Knockoff Techstream (v18) shows same as always with only Immobilizer, SRS/Airbag, Tire Pressure Monitor. CanBus test states no system found.
This is with the GoDiag GD101 cable. I like it because it seems faster.
Can Lights on BoB are bright and flashing.

I think it's time to hook up the scope and see what's going on on the bus.

Oh boy. The scope. I know how to plug it in and there are different channels and some canbus options in the software app. That would be it.

Connecting the wires I'm ok, but any settings on it would be Greek to me. I'm willing to give it a whirl though :)

I'm not familiar with the Hantek software but I'm sure I could figure it out if you sent me a couple screenshots.

It looks like they have some instructions on the settings that I scrolled right past before, which helps because that was my clueless part. I will say avoid the website because there is an annoying Contact screen that doesn't go away.

This was the part I missed on my end:

    4. Oscilloscope settings: CH1: Attenuation x1, 1v/div, 5ms/div

At first glance, I don't see these settings, but this is also coming from a Chinese to English google translation. That is what I get for going cheap.

I'll have to venture into this tomorrow as it's 10PM here and I still have that washing machine part to put in and a few other things to tend to because if I don't it won't get done

I'll collect some screenshots and info relevant to the canbus testing which I'll need to thumb through manual for. Heck the whole thing could be in Chinese for all the sense it makes to me right now. The menu wouid probably help most, but I'm not seeing a quick way to get that just yet.

I feel like Iron Tech: Battle Oscilloscope for anyone that gets the reference lol

Worst case if you can't get it we can probably get a temviewer going and I can take a look.

    What model Hantek?
My PC wont even let me download any manuals from their homepage, It says the site is "Unsecure, Download Blocked".
I have ways to bypass that, But I need to know what manual I'm after.

    So what model Hantek?

I came out here thinking I'd have a couple of hours to master the foreign oscilloscope, but no. I did get to read through some of the instructions earlier and managed to get the below, and a recording of of another function. The battery is about to die on this laptop, but later I'll try to find a way to upload the video snippet and details. Also, I have a copy of the manual if needed. Not the easiest to follow, but it makes more sense now on where to find things.

I can't really see alot on that picture but it's obvious that is not a good CAN signal.
So guess we keep unplugging stuff until it cleans up.

Neither one looks good, they should both be at a 2.5v bias. CAN L should go from 2.5v to 1.5v and CAN H should go from 2.5v to 3.5V and should look pretty much like a square wave and mirror each other.

They typically looks something like this.

After looking at it for a while your vertical scale looks good (took me a long time to see there are major and minor divisions..) Its kind of difficult to see details in a screen shot.. Wish they had an option to denote values right on the axis like in DM93's screenshot. I suppose you could use a cross type cursor if you wanted actual measurements as described in the manual 3.9.1
You might want to zoom the horizontal scale in to 50us/div

I assume you know this but I did not see it anywhere in the manual, make sure the reference leads have a good solid connection to ground
