The Toyota allocation website says 265 for torque. I've seen it on the PC screen. Dealers don't control that.

Not much twist between the bed and the cab in that video. Good sign.

I ran the VIN in TIS and it shows 278hp @ 6000rpm/265 lb-ft @ 4600rpm just like the recent "window stickers". No build dates yet though.

minute differences probably due to power ratings on regular vs premium gas.

278/265 sounds about right for a 3.5L these days. Should be a good motor.

Going to lawls when the frame is exactly the same as the current 2nd gen though, same with the axles.

One less torque and 42 more HP. Better tranny, lighter weight, more towing (albeit only 300 lbs more) and better MPG. Sounds like an overall win to me, even if the the engine has to rev a bit more to get there. It's not like revving means the longterm reliability will be hindered. If that were the case you wouldn't be seeing Honda Civics all over the road with 250k+ miles on the clock.

OME, sliders, dents, hail damage, soiled armrest. Lightbulbs.
And VVT-iW might mean a broad, flat torque curve with good power down low... And less emphasis on the revving high.... (I hope)

not necessarily, If the bore n stroke on the new 3.5l is the same as the other 2GR engines (94mm bore and 83mm stroke) this is a 12% smaller stroke than the 1GR (94mm bore and 95mm stroke), meaning you can take redline and bump it up by the same % and get the same piston velocities. This would put revlimit around 6100 rpms on the 3.5... right in line of what the tac says.

That stated, the reason why our 1GR's have such a nice broad flat torque curve is do to that slightly undersquare design (stroke longer than bore width) But i have a feeling with the new technologies on the new 3.5L the torque should be nice and broad as well.
