Just finished this up for my truck.
I used a scrap piece of 1x6 PT and notched the ends so they would fit snug inside the rails. Cut the holes on a 30 degree using a drill press and 2" hole saw. Finished it up with a few coats of rustoleum I had laying around. All in all it cost me $50 for the flush mounts, 1x6, and ss #10 screws.

I'm pretty happy with it. Fits really snug in the rails so I might sand the ends down so I can slide it back to fit my bed extender.

90% of the time I'm just transporting rods to my boat a mile down the road. For longer trips I'm going to add some type of bungee system to strap them down.

Well done. So what's holding the board down on the corner?
