So I have read about 50 threads over the last year trying to fix my squeak.
2012 tacoma double cab with 82k miles completely stock. I have owned it since 64k miles and don't know the past other than retired firefighter from northern louisiana

it started with just speed bumps. so i changed the body mounts and end links. never went away. I have sprayed silicone and wd40 on every moving part listed throughout the threads and still makes noise. tightened bumper crash bar

I did have some paint work done to front of truck and the grill, headlights and fender flares were off the truck if that makes a difference.

then out of the blue last week it was every seam in the road even the painted lines on the road at stop lights would make noise. swore it was left side ball joint or lca bushings. Parts are on the way.

then today i had the passenger window down and thought is that coming from the right side?

got under truck and with wife's help rocked the truck and yep the sound is what i deem identical on both sides in the lower control arm area to best of my knowledge. got on left side of truck to rock it and noise sounds like only left side. go to the right side and rock the truck sounds like its only the right side.

At highway speeds i don't notice the noise but could be fighting wind noise.

    What's driving me nuts is

    1. What the heck is doing this?

    2. What are the odds of the same noise on both sides happening at the the same time out of the blue?

all help and ideas appreciated. just don't want to keep throwing parts at it but im about to just rebuild the entire front end and be done with it.

Did you also change the front body/radiator mounts?

Lca cam bolts seized, lca bushings trashed, uca bj demolished, lower ball joints destroyed? Cam alignment tabs totally flattened out? Just some common issues listed.

Tuesday we’re gonna check lca and ball joints.
The oddness is that both sides started making the sound I believe at the exact same time while I was driving

4x4? Any loss of steering control or abnormal vibrations accompanied with the sound? Does it only occur within a certain rpm or speed range? Current vehicle modifications?

Try spraying your sway bar end joints as well as the bushings on the frame. I also spray my entire leaf packs in the rear, as part of my occasional anti-corrosion campaign.
If you don't have anything fancy, WD-40 will work for diagnostic purposes.

Use an automotive stethoscope with a metal tip right on the ball joint area. If the joint is dry and squeaky you'll hear it easily. Have a helper rock the vehicle back and forth
