Well strike out on first conversation as the representative clearly did not know how to read properly and kept trying to say because my vehicle didn't get the CRC coating in the time frame allotted it did not qualify. So a supervisor is supposed to be calling me back tomorrow.

So I took the CSP to my dealer and I have an appointment on Tuesday to get the truck inspected. Thank you @MSgt O for the information. I am still waiting on a call from a supervisor at corporate tomorrow to let them know how poorly there reps can read and interpret black and white of their own service directive. I will keep you guys posted on progress.

I would fight them . Only if you want to keep the truck . You do wonder if this truck was ever submerged in salt water. This does seem like a good amount of rust for where you live . Now if you were up in New York like me then yes .But Texas? Even being close to the water

If it had been driven through water I would have rot all over the body pnls and the body is fine and quite frankly I think if the previous owner would have taken some preventative measures the frame would be good as well. You see idiots that drive into the water and through water hauling butt all the time down here on the beach and then you see the vehicles start to rot like crazy shortly after. I don't get why you would do that to a vehicle you are paying good money for. I feel my truck is very solid for one that has nearly 200K on the clock. I have started replacing stuff not because they have failed but generally as I know they have served their life and I would rather replace before I push it and get stranded due to a break down.

Before this I had an 04 Silverado that didn't have any undercoating and I had gotten stuck in some brackish mud that didn't have near the corrosion that this truck has but I always take care to crawl under and wash everything with fresh water and spray down after my stupid ventures when I was younger and dumber. When I got rid of it in 2017 it was still in good enough shape to get 10K out of it due to the low miles and condition.

Took the truck in to Toyota today for the inspection they sent off the results for approval. So now we wait to see if the powers that be approve the frame replacement.
They supposedly found my valve covers leaking haven't looked to verify yet, timing cover gasket and what I am assuming is the oil pan but they said crank case. So I will probably have them do the oil pan and timing cover while they do the frame. And maybe save a couple dollars on labor as they will have easy access with the motor out. But we will see what the verdict is hopefully tomorrow.

Congratulations. This will be the best time to upgrade other parts that may need replacement in the future.
You already won the lottery, do your home work, get parts at your cost, and have them installed. Make sure you ok this first with your dealer before you do this. Good luck!

When is the cut off date for replacement. I had the required inspection and coating. They did it properly. Thorough cleaning first.

I was planning getting frame inspected just before the cut off for replacement

    12 years ? Is it ?

so I can just demand an inspection just before the 12 yrs is up ?

That sucks but it's still better than having a holy frame. Yes inconvenience and annoyance for sure. But you essentially have a clean canvas to ensure long life.

    I’ve read through that thread.

just unclear if I can call my dealer and demand a free frame inspection a month before the 12 yrs is up?

I’ve done the inspection and coating as required.

I believe from my understanding you can ask for an inspection up to 12 years of first use. And as long as you had the crc coating performed if you live in one of the five required states by the cut off date. Which you said you did so yes you are covered for the full 12 years and can ask for inspection.

Good to know. I’ll have my mechanic carefully inspect it shortly before the 12 yrs and then if anything is found I will take it to dealership.

yea I had the required inspection and cnc and live in designated area.
