no, it probably would have resulted in frame damage.

Also, I'm not in the mood to spend a bunch of money on stuff that adds weight and looks like shit to make my truck more resistant to damage when fucktards crash into it. You've missed the point here I think.

Dude, if you know so much and are more competent than the adjusters, why ask us lowly dumbasses? This is TW, we joke about everything.
Oh wait, you didn't even care what we said, you are just venting. Take your shit down the road man as you have more money and smarter than us, judging by your posts.

Dumb in the modern sense and only semi-literate, yes. But the line I posted refers to what is not an uncommon bumper sticker to see and was meant to be a tongue-in-cheek reference.

Let me be more clear. Sorry you got your backside smushed in without consent. I say it costs a tossed salad of Benjamins. I’ll say $6,900. (Taylor) Sheesh, dude.

Highly doubt, probably would’ve prevented any damage, maybe some scratches in the bumper. And if it did total the truck, you said you would be getting rid of it anyways. might have just gotten a check and spared you a bunch of bs repair time.

Adjuster is coming over this morning....I went through and made my list so far....it's worse than I initially though, everything on the passenger side is pushed back about 2 inches. I thought it was just the plastic shit up front but it got well into structure.

So far I'm at $6K in parts (about $4500 wholesale cost)....and I'm probably short about $1000 (no tear down yet). At least 6 things to be painted, probably 1.5 hrs of straightening, plus the rest of the assembly/teardown labor, plus rental car, plus???

    Yes.

well, I explained to my insurance guy that this truck is owned by the business and used by the business, and he established the policy accordingly. And yes, I have all that in an email….I’ve learned over the years to put it in writing.

no idea how that will affect or if it will affect things…we’ll find out.

Guessing about $11K - Careful with insurance adjusters, they’ll try to cut you a check on the spot if it’s free and clear. Tell them you’ll review it and get a second opinion to get the true value of the repairs.

Very familiar with the process...and very familiar with the law of accepting settlement by cashing or depositing a check from them. How big the check is will determine how I deal with this. I know what I can fix it for. I know what I can sell it for fixed....and I have a few decent guesses what I can sell it for as it sits.

We'll do math and make a decision in a few days. Until then...I'm off to AVIS to rent a Tacoma while they sort this out....don't need it, just wouldn't mind costing them more money.
