So, I'm interested in switching to the OEM headlights and upon searching for some again recently, I stumbled across these.

SOCKIR Headlight Assembly Fit for 2020-2023 Toyota Tacoma Headlamp OEM Full LED DRL Driver and Passenger Side, Compatible with TRD PRO Headlights Models : Amazon.ca: Automotive

They look identical to the OEM ones, I was wondering if the quality was similar as well? I know the new generation of Taco is out, so, the headlight prices should be coming down.

    Thanks in advance

Looking identical and being identical are two very different things, and when your safety is concerned, why chance it for a couple hundred dollars. Get the real OEM LED lights, which are both legal and some of the best lights you can get anywhere.

Getting the real deal is expensive, but worth it, I would argue. Someone smashed out one of my headlights in long-term airport parking and I just bit the bullet and bought a new one to replace it even though it was more expensive for one OEM than a set of aftermarket.

    "Bulbs not included."

If you wait for a sale you can get the OEM headlights for about what these are going for and the bulbs will be included.

Where have you seen the OEM LEDs for $400 per light? I was looking for a couple months and still wound up paying $650 for one. This was two years ago tho - maybe some deals have cropped up since then

It's confusing looking at the Amazon listing. It sure looks like they borrowed (stole) photos of the actual OEM headlights, which, of course are reflector based LED assemblies and do not have any user serviceable or replaceable parts at all and then in their text say that bulbs are not included. What the fuck are they selling. I going to call bullshit on this ad. There are too many red flags. Just get the real ones. You won't regret it and even if you pay a little more than when they (rarely) go on sale, when you amortize that over the time you have your truck, the amounts are pretty trivial.

Well, when I click on OP's link I see this:

    Screenshot_20240427-170505.png

    A bit more than $400.00.

Edit: looking at my pic I see the address is Amazon Canada. Oops.
I guess they don't want us in the U S of A buying them, not that I ever would even for 400 bucks.

Yes, me too. That's why I suggested for a couple hundred more to get the real thing, but also, look at those photos. Those are pics of the real deal not whatever crap they are really selling.

Fair play. I did not click the link. I was going by what shows up underneath the link which is $767.

At $1250 for a pair there's no damn way I'm going for anything but OEM. Good call.

Yeah, I edited my post above because I noticed the link takes you to Amazon Canada and I'm in the States. That's where the difference in price comes from.

Buy OEM and make sure you are buying from a Toyota dealer. Many dealers sell on Amazon, eBay and their own parts sites for cheaper than you can buy at the dealer. There are now many look-alike Chinese copies of the OEM LED headlights, but the performance doesn’t compare at all. Very weak output, irregular/non-uniform patterns, dangerous dark spots that just lack illumination, they are pretty bad. If you are going to spend the money, do it once and do it right. Several have bought the knockoffs, just to realize they are a huge downgrade and are then out that much money that could have been put toward the real deal.

How hard would it be to swap headlights from my stock 19 to a 20+ trd style headlight ?

it depends on if you have the LED DRL's, but there is a guy on here who makes an easy conversion harness.
Overall, I don't think there is a difference, unless you are wanting to go LED headlights
