LOL scary but I do agree, I always had that problem when I would buy Aluminum Bar, 10' in a 5' bed makes it a little challenging without a rack. I got them to cut the bar in have and used my e-track mod to keep them off the tailgate. That rack is super cool though, seems like it would also work well for cutting right off the bed as well. you need a place to mount a saw and you would not even need to offload them prior to cutting them.

Tell you what fellas. Just this summer, My food for months was chemo. I beat that monster. Live life because you DON’T HAVE A CLUE what lies ahead. If I was that scared of the truck attachment, I wouldn’t be competing in HotSaw competitions, or running the most dangerous tool in my eyes. A strong grinder with a cut off wheel. Forget the gas tanks or gas flowing under all of our feets. Well, propane for me ‍☠️

Such is life. However I can now move on with the build. 8’ high!!!! What was I thinking. Time for 2.0

It has been a problem for years, it is more like they steal your tailgate to satisfy the need for someone else. My hypostasis is there is a bounty offered by the shops to replace someone tailgate.

You can find ads where they have all colors for $500 to $750. Most of these are either stolen on demand or they have a few ready to go. In some cases you can even buy your own tailgate back.

I originally just made a lock for my truck 2013 SBDC 4x4 and that has evolved to making many for a few different vehicles to include Gen 2,3 Tacoma, Ford F-Series, Tundra and working on a Ranger one.

That is ridiculous, why is this world filled to the brim with assholes?!?!

Is this an issue if you leave your tailgate down? As in if you lock the tailgate, are you good?

They can be removed off the truck in 30 seconds, but I have had people send me pictures where they punched out the key lock on the 3rd gen and since they had our lock, they still had the tailgate. But definitely keep them locked, if they are left down it would be good to get a secondary lock
