After reading another posting about his leaky battery , I gave mine a peak this morning. And yes....... We've got a leaker. My truck has 4000 miles on it now. Its probably been leaking for a bit. It was under the tray. Popped the battery caps off and saw that it was full to the top practically. Have speakership appt Tuesday after the holiday. Costco has seal AGM battery for $ 154. I ordered it. I figured fuck it , what will they do Tuesday , tell me its '' acceptable leakage''. I did notice it was tightened down so much from the factory, that it was dented.

Since you are under warranty send the receipt to Toyota and you will get reimbursed for it.

Batteries suck, they all suck. AGM, Gel, Wet, lithium ion, 9V (the ones that cost $10 for two), AAA (fuck them), watch batteries (there's a million), 18V that cost more than the tool, rechargeable pffftt, and the the one that explodes in your pocket with your samsung phone and you light yourself on fire like a 4th of July North American cannon mortar!

everything under the sun requires batteries….and it seems technology just hasn’t kept up with demand. I’m just glad my wife’s batteries work in her vibrator or we would be headed for a divorce :pout:

Maybe the greatest thing I've heard on here!

I've got so many battery storries it will blow your mind. Last year my wife had the great idea to buy Holiday lights all run on batteries. Like the little fucking watch batteries. Well, after two nights and one snowfall they all went out. At least the plug in lights you throw away every three years.

Hope this thread doesn't come to an abrupt halt. But, one day I found vibrating nipple clamps in our dresser drawer. (didn't even know they existed but we had a talk).

I'm way into re-gifting items and I gave them to my brother for his 40th birthday. He was not ammused.

    At All

    But the batteries still worked.

    Anyways...

Thanks for the info OP. I'll check mine and make sure it's not tightened down like someone used an impact on it and just kept going. Like pretty much every tire shop in the world when they are putting your wheels back on...

Never posted update. Had appt with dealer. Couldn't loose the day waiting there. So I ordered a AGM battery from Costco. While waiting for battery, I popped the battery caps and it was literally full to the top. I used a few lint free rags and dipped them into each cell to lower the level to the bar on the inside. Put caps back on and its not leaking anymore. And on a side note Costco never called lol.

Hopefully you removed the battery and cleaned the spill area with baking soda, rinsed well and dried before reinstalling the battery.

My battery seems to leak a bit more than any lead acid battery I've had before. So bad that in under a year I was seeing corrosion on the terminals. Months ago I got some Noco cleaner and corrosion preventative. cleaned it up and treated it but still seems bit wet.
this the products I'm talking about:

I might still say something at the dealer when I'm in for my 15,000 mile service next Tuesday.

Well as I type this the dealership is going to warranty my battery. They said it is leaking and making crosoion even on the hold downs and they can tell I tried to fix it up and wasn't successful so I get a new one!

    Edit
Not only a new one but an 84 month warranty one.
