I have an 05 access cab. Its my daily driver but I also do some light wheeling and hauling gear on hunting trips. My current set up is 5100's up front with Eibach coils and toytec AAL in rear with toytec shocks. I have added bumpers and a winch and also have a leer shell so the truck has began to sag.

My goal is to be able to run 285's, have a level stance, and the smoothest ride possible on and off road.

I will admit I'm a little cheap but I understand I will get what I pay for so I would like to obtain my goals on a reasonable budget.

    Current Specs
    Front:
5100's, Eibach coils, Relentless fab bumper and winch (roughly 200lb)
    Rear:
AAl and stock springs, Leer shell and relentless fab bumper (roughly 350lb?)

    My Plan:
I have done a lot of searching and have came up with this plan to obtain my goals but I'm not sure if it will work. Im hoping to achieve around 2.75" lift and continue to use stock UCA's if possible (cheap). I plan on continuing to use the front 5100's (cheap) and adding either OME 886 or 887 springs for the front and All Pro standard or OME Dakar springs for the rear.

From what I have read the 866 will still be stiff and give about 3" and the All Pros should give around 3" also.

So Im thinking the 887's with the added weight should be end up around 2.75" and the Dakars should also end up around 2.75".

Im open to all suggestion but my main question is which front spring would be better to obtain my goals of smooth ride and hieght?????

If you look at my build in my sig. I have 887s with 5100s and a 1.5 inch AAl my truck is level so I dont know if you want to go that route with a bumper and winch I would probably go with the 886 and possibly move your snap ring up if it sags with the 886s.

887s and upgrade the UCAs. I am sure you would rub with 285s on stock UCAs and it is recommended to change UCAs out when you approach anything at or over 2.5" of lift.

It could be argued back and forth that it would be a wise choice to upgrade the shocks to Nitrochargers at least in the front. With that much weight, you will want a spring/shock combo that are designed and valved to work together.

Not denying your statement but just putting it out there that I dont rub with stock UCAs but I would have some aftermarket if I could afford them.

Thanks for the input guys. I really wish someone had some experience with 887s and the added weight so I could see how much they would sag but I cant find anyone running that set up.

    "885=2.5"

886=3" (longer than 885 and heavier spring rate) recommended for a lot of weight up front

887=3" (longer but same spring rate as 885) recommended for a full 3" with out a lot of weight up front"

    Another good thread:
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/suspension/338613-sagging-5100-885-a.html

I would call Toytec or Wheeler's. My guess would be that the 887s would still sag some due to lack of such a high spring rate. To me, from what others have posted, the 887s sound like a route they go when they find out they have to run spacers with the 885s and don't want to. For extra weight up front, I would go with 90000 Nitrocharger shocks and 886s.

    From toytec:

"90000 is for use with additional weight up front. 90021 is for stock weight up front and not to be used with 886s."
