Another lifting question for my new truck

I’m about to swap my 18 sport for a new 2020 SR5 that I’m planning on building up for a little bit of off-roading fun. No intense rock climbing, just trails, mud, that sort of thing.
I’ve always been confused about lifting trucks though, so I’m hoping someone can help me. I’m going to be writing in a basic suspension and tire upgrade into the deal at my dealership and I want to be armed with what I need as opposed to listening to the dealership trying to talk me into some garbage.

I know I need coil springs, but what kind would be compatible?
And I’ve heard that I don’t need new UCA’s if I’m keeping this under 3”, but what about a rear block?

Why are you trading down?

You'll need in addition to shocks either an AAL or block in the rear. You can reuse the stock coil but the ride may be a bit stiff for your liking, I ran this and didn't find it bothersome at all on my 19 Sport. UCA's you can get away with stock and get pretty close, right in factory spec, but UCAs will give you a better ride/stability and more play in adjustment.

 

I’m trading it in because I really want the power seats and to take advantage of an incredible deal at my dealership.
I’ll probably go with the aal, I remember reading somewhere it’s better for towing which I do occasionally

 

You're gaining the power seats but losing in other areas (proximity keyless entry and push button start, qi charger, entune and bigger display, TRD resale, etc.) but as long as your happy, just an odd move you don't see often even if its "an incredible deal" (never really is in reality). Well let us know if you got questions in addition to the lift that I mentioned above.

 

Yeah, I’m okay with losing what you mentioned. The push button is about the only thing I’ll miss. I’d probably like to swap out the coils, how would I know what size I’ll need?

You can also run a lower setting on the 5100s paired with a different coil to achieve a desired lift height, lots of ways to skin the same cat.

 

How often do you adjust the seat?

 

I have a 2020, seat is actually more uncomfortable (others have said this as well) than prior non power seat year, and I've all but set it once, could give a sh*t about it, but everyone is different.

 

Too bad I can’t talk you into trading hoods with me before you trade it in... it’s only about 40 hours drive, each way to Alberta from where I am...

 

Haha. I don’t see what the big deal is with power seats. Most drivers set the seat to their preference and leave it.

I'd trade the Sport for the Off-Road just for the rear locker. Even if you trade down to a truck without all the premium goodies. Aftermarket lockers are expensive.
