UPDATE!!!! Magnuson has released the dyno numbers on their first pull! Things are looking good!1AD283D8-5C3D-4C4A-A9CA-FA841521542D.jpg

Well we all know how bad us “turd” gen owners want to boost the crap out of our trucks because who doesnt want more torque and horsepower? This is their 2nd or 3rd teaser they have released now. Anyone else feel like they are fishing for interest? Or do you think they have been hard at work making one? 7C4EFCF9-444D-4737-818F-B651C051C59D.jpg

Can they partner with Toyota and offer an OEM supercharger that won't invalidate warranty? If so sign me up.

I thought they already confirmed that they were in the process of making one awhile back? Back when they came out with the new 4runner one? I think they got enough interest back in 2016, probably just continuing to tease it to keep people interested

With intake, exhaust and a ecu flash tune you can get well over 300hp, still more than enough to do most jobs.

For the money of a new Tacoma and a $5000+ supercharger you could just buy a faster vehicle (or car) for the same or less money.

So, for $50k I could buy a $30K Cobra kit car and a $20k used Tacoma.

TRD got out of the boost game a few years ago, I highly doubt they'll get back into it. This will definitely be aftermarket and void all kinds of powertrain warranties lol.

I don't want it, and their "fishing" post is marketing 101 level. They are just gauging interest, nothing more, nothing less.
Dangle the bait, see if it's the right bait, dangle some more bait, see what it attracts, then bait the hook and *BAM* somebody spends $6K they don't have lol.
I'm not saying it's wrong at all. It's business. People should be more aware of what is happening is all.

I did email them about 2 months ago weighing my options and their response was Yes in development. But no release date. Said to just follow them and wait. I'm going to try the tune route or 4.88 gears. I think there is enough power as well, just bad transmission gear ratios.

Definitely I would love to have more torque on this truck!
I hope they use a head unit with room to grow

IDK about you, but I didn't pay $45k for my truck...

Just giving you a hard time. On the same page as you, but when loaded down headed through the mountains, it's hard to have "too much" power.

With everything included dealer prep, delivery, tax, etc many have spent $45k on a Tacoma and with a $5k supercharger that’s $50k which you can get a fast ass car and a long life truck for.

    Just saying

Mine's a 1st gen, even better because our superchargers are half the price of 2nd and probably 3rd gens :p :spending:

Buying a sports car you can't use as a truck, and then an older truck that still can't do what you want it to, just leaves you with two insurance and excise bills, for two cars that don't fix your first problem. Its a stupid argument that doesn't make sense.

    just saying

And you'll have a truck that doesn't perform like a sports car after a supercharger.

My point, I'm not into superchargers or turbochargers, been down that road.

The only thing "stupid" is someone that continues to argue opinions, do whatever you want and spend whatever money you have or don't have.

I'll drive my naturally aspirated Porsche 911S (997) at 380HP and my friends cobra 427 kit car.
