Another magnuson supercharger tease.

The TRD warranty with the supercharger covered the whole truck, so if the added power broke something the truck was still under warranty even with the added supercharger.

I can see toyota having a field day with the superchargers if they were added and saying the transmission is not working correctly because you added a supercharger and the truck warranty is void now.
Just my thoughts

 

Magnuson Makes fantastic products, hands down,

 

Like any aftermarket part install, Toyota would have to prove that said part was directly responsible for the failure of say the transmission.

 

I agree but it would be easy For Toyota to say adding 100 more hp and added 6-10 pounds of boost to a truck that was not designed for that would be plenty for them to void any warranty

Anyways my brother has a new 2017 tacoma and like everyone would love to have one if it was available, time will tell

Supercharger was by far my best add on for my truck and would 100 percent do it

yeah the MM Warranty act is cool and all but I don't think it would be very hard for Toyota to argue that the effects of an aftermarket supercharger contributed to the failure of just about any component on the truck...anything engine, transmission, driveline, ECU or emissions related are directly affected by it. Not to say it would cause any kind of failure, that all depends on your setup and how you drive it.

 

I am waiting for the second year of the wrangler turbo diesel pickup. Until that day I will drive my turd and hope it will hold value well for a trade in.

Anyways, I remember watching a 4Runner supercharger video where a magnuson rep stated the warranty will cover a powertrain failure. However, that's only if it was installed by a certified mechanic.

I could have remembered wrong though.

 

...thought i read that you can't supercharge an atkinson cycle engine, aka our turd gen trucks...

 

1.5 years later.. in a galaxy far F-A-R AWAY lol. No more details. Rumored to be shown at SEMA this weekend. Anyone have confirmation on this?

 

all that is confirmed so far is they occupy Booth #24569 at SEMA 2019.

thats how the warranty works.. you have to have a certified shop/mechanic install the supercharger.
