I Bought a 2019 SR5, I would have got the TRD model but dont like push button start, With the money I saved I got arb bumpers and still have money left over for other upgrades. The truck sits lower than the t r d models, looks a little wimpy, but I get 17 m p g . Interested in eventually getting suspension upgrades.Stock tires are p245 75r 16. All the research says either bigger tires or lift causes excessive up and down shifting on the auto trans.
My question is what would be a happy medium so it doesnt sit so low, and dont have to spend 3k ona suspension that effects power and gearing. Also looking for a full length slider to offer medium protection without adding to much weight
    Thanks

Welcome! I run a 2” spacer lift (1” thick) in the front and a 1” block in the rear. I really like this setup. Inexpensive, simple and effective.

A question: What don’t you like about push button start? It is one of my favorite things.

    First off, welcome!

Second, what is your end goal for the truck? Are you new to off roading and interested in making it a hobby, experienced off roader, or are you just wanting a truck that looks cool? This is what should dictate what suspension you end up getting.

As for rock sliders, all of them will generally weigh the same. I personally like my RCI rock sliders for their price and how quickly they ship. But, some people don't care for them since they do leave small gaps at both fenders. Other companies that have good reviews for their rock sliders are BAMF or Mobtown, but I don't have any personal experience with them.

The ride height, clearance, etc is identical on the SR, SR5, Sport, OR, and Limited. Only the Pro has an additional 'lift' of 1 inch.

All the other trims need is that extra little push.

    Thanks
I still have a 92 3litre 4x that I bought new, kept it so I could use it for a work truck. Its nice for me to have a useful work truck and a passenger rig for traveling to over passes in the winter. I used to go wheelin in the sierras on miles of trails. Dont want to lift new truck to much makes it harder to haul dirt bikes. Wouldnt mind a little lift if it doesnt compromise sway.
On the 92 truck I went with b f g tires that helped with better tire to ground contact As for new double long bed with p 245 16 tires seem small what would b happy medium
Guy at work told me about adjustable shocks that would lift it from stock height to 2 Inch, cant remember what company but remember it was 1700 for kit. Does anyone know if lifting truck would increase up and down shifting on auto,or would effect gas mileage. More important for me to have truck handle good on street when I am driving on streeet 90 percent of time
    Thanks for feedback
