Ok, I guess we start with the disclaimer that yes I have used the search and read tons of threads already. My 2015 DCSB TRDsport came with the legendary "Duncraps" (shame on you Toyota for cheap trash on a $32k truck!!!)
So.... I am trying to decide on new tires. Cooper AT3's and Michelins are what I'm thinking.
The 10 plies are tempting for wear, but I fear the weight will hurt the mileage and make it ride like a basketball. I live in norther Ohio in the salt capital of the world, so winter traction is a concern. I will add that I am 90% on road, 10% off-road. The 4-ply crap will get a flat from a twig in my yard.
Input and opinions are all needed. Thanks and happy Labor Day!!!

Michelen LTX M/S2 or the Michelen LTX AT2 ( a bit more aggressive look).

Brother in law has the LTX's and loves them. Will be my next tire.

Lots of guys run the LTX's on here

I know this probably isn't what you are looking for since you didn't mention anything but Cooper and Michelins. Assuming you are looking for a AT tire though? If you're open for other options I'll give you my impression of the tires I have on mine. I'm running a set of Fierce MT 10 Ply tires on mine and I couldn't be more happy with them. I've had them since 2011 and have over 40k miles on them and they are still going strong. When I bought them I figured 25-30K miles then I'd have to replace them but they are the best tires I've ever owned. I keep them rotated every 5k miles so that might help with the wear but I have been to SD, WY, CO (4 times). They have been on almost every trail in the Alpine Loop in CO. The only downside is the noise between 40-45MPH. I won't lie and say they aren't loud. They are. But anything under or over that range is pretty quite. The ride is not as bad as I figured it would be considering the 10 ply. They, of course, ride rougher than stock but not bad at all.

Honestly, both the tires you mentioned are fantastic. Those are actually the only two tires I run and will ever run. Cooper ATP's or AT3's or Michelin AT2's. My wife runs the Michelin MS2's, amazing tire for family SUV that does not see any dirt.

That is a sweet bumper on that rig! That tread is a little too aggressive for my use, but I do like the look!

I figured it might be. Just throwing out a option since I've had really good luck out of them so far. I wanted a 10 ply so I wouldn't have to worry quite as much where we take the truck. For a AT I think you're on the right track.

I have the same truck and same thought after I drove on heavy rains in Seattle last weekend. Truck was like flooding on the hwy, in the water. I'll check out the AT2 tires from Costco today.

Anyway, how much do you think we can sell the Dunlop tires on CL? My tires have less than 500 miles on them.

I had them on my 2011 when I replace them with the one's I have now. Got a nail in the sidewall so they couldn't patch. IIRC a new Dunflop cost about $120? I said screw it and bought the one's I have now. I imagine someone would buy them though I don't know how much they would be willing to spend.

I'd be happy if I can get 300 for all 4 tires :)

From left field comes Treadwright tires - remolds (quasi re-treads). With 60-70% recycled materials, these the best option for a green purchase. Made in the US and very affordable. I have the mud terrain Claw tires ($135 each), with huge 19/32 lugs and E rated. They don't have many tread options; the Warden would be the best option for what you're looking.

They are not perfect: one of my tires was previously plugged (but with new bead to bead rubber, it's completely sealed); my tread width measures 8.1 inches but are advertised at 8.75; and I received three matching tire cases but the one that was different was 10 lbs heavier than the other three.
However, given the price, green factor, and made in USA, I don't think I'll ever buy a different brand off-road tire.

They have a Labor day weekend sale. https://www.treadwright.com

Maybe I'd run re-treads on a dedicated trail rig, but this is a five month old truck. Michelins are probably the best option, but coopers look to be made in USA and I am hearing good things. I am kinda stuck on whether to go for the 10 ply or not. Guys are reporting that it will rob fuel mileage, but it is a way tougher tire it seems.

A 10-ply tire will weigh about 50 lbs; non, about 40 lbs. They do rob some mpg's; that's one of the trade-offs.
