22 tacoma 3.5 v6 4k miles. I pulled this picture of a tacoma cylinder head to show where I’m noticing very small amounts of oil forming coming through this cylinder head bolt.(no oil between the upper and lower cylinder heads) just the bottom of the threads Today I noticed 1 oil droplet on the flat machined surface and droplet on the underside of the bolt where threads are of the rear cylinder head bolt. Now the valve cover gasket was replaced under warranty at 2500 miles. The dealer cleaned everything really good. Since then I’ve been monitoring that area and everything has been completely dry until now. No idea where these droplets have come from. Like the oil is coming through the bolt threads. Makes no sense to me. The entire surrounding ares of valve cover and rest of cylinder head are completely dry. Any help would be appreciated. Only thing I can think of is the oil that was leaking originally before replacing the valve cover gasket has seeped down through this bolt?

I’m very interested in what they do for you. Have they offered to extend your warranty in case you keep having these problems? Just wondering once you notice things like this if they will do what’s right long term.

Yes they have already given me a 10 year 125k bumper to bumper/power rain platinum warranty for free. But honestly. It seems like no end in sight with issues with this truck. Headliner started rattling the other day, another thing I pulled out of driveway the other day and was coasting was herring a chirping/squeak coming from something under like a ujoint and now this leak

Your signature badge says 2020 but your post indicates the truck is a 2022.

this sucks for such a new low mileage vehicle. sorry to hear but appreciate you sharing.

i do not know or have any guesses on how the leak is occurring but, if you don't mind, i am curious how the initial oil leak was noticed. did you notice it or did the dealer?

I noticed the original leak. Smelled oil burning and looked around and seen the rear of the valve cover dripping oil. The pictures I posted are not my actual parts. It’s a picture offline to show where I’m seeing the oil from I circled the areas in yellow.
