Good on you. I stated similar results doing just what you do/did. Not arguing that point at all. Not arguing either. Just sharing thoughts on how limits might be pushed is all. Not trying to sway your mind or change what you do.

    Yeah.
Not gonna read through 9 pages of this, but from what I understand, the key to the "million milers" was mainly fewer engine cycles (starting up, heating up, cooling down, doing it all over again). So, you should save up as much of your driving as you can and do it all at once.

Wait a minute, that’s not really the correct comparison right? Shouldn’t there be two trucks with 200K, one of which had 5K interval oil changes, using synthetic oil and OEM filter, with bizarre drain and filtering and magnet dipping every 1K, and the other had the same oil and filter, interval of 10K? What if it was just the interval and neither one strained oil through cheese cloth every thou?

I wish there was a poll.

Really wasn’t meant to be a comparison but rather which vehicle would you purchase with all else being equal.

Kind of on the same thought process, but didn't have the option to decide between two trucks before purchase. I purchased a well used '79 F250 4x4 that the second owner had made OCD like notes on EVERYTHING during his ownership from 13k miles to 113k miles when he sold it to the guy I bought it from.

He logged every fill up, which tank it went into, price, MPG, supporting travel indicators that may have influenced said MPG, oil changes, brand, what viscosity (changed for seasons or towing), every detail on every part replaced on the motor, etc.
Other odd shit he did was add a remote oil filter to house two factory sized filters. Added MSD ignition, but kept the factory ignition system installed. Just needed to swap a plug and it would switch systems. He added a vacuum guage to the dash for some odd reason, ran a radiator flex fan AND an electric fan. He evern doubled down on the damn door buzzer (wtf?).

Motor ran great, no leaks, manual shifted great, transfer case shifted great, 4x4 system worked flawlessly, ice cold AC, surprisingly well kept interior, but absolutely shit effort was made to keep the paint good or panels dent free. The bed looked like he put 10 or 20 100# bowling balls back there and took it down the roughest road on the planet. The volume of the bed now was clearly much more than when it left the factory.

I found random wires under the dash and in the engine bay that ran to nothing. I spent a week chasing where all these wires went and removed them one by one. I kid you not, I filled 5 gallon bucket with these wires and that was packed down pretty tight. Probably $20 in recyclable copper.

Not sure what this guy's deal was, but it was an adventure reading through the log book and just finding all the weird shit he did to the truck in it's life with him. I am surprised he didn't do similar additional oil filtering like you do.

Uh oh. I’m guilty of taking impeccable notes too. I do this to keep track of what’s been done so future tasks can be identified and managed. As I’m older now I take the time to slow things down just a bit and do what I want and like. If I was living the busy life like in my younger days I’m sure I would revert back to 7,500 mile oil and filter changes and be done with it. In my senior years I take pleasure in good design, manufacture and maintenance. I subscribe to pay once for quality and will it to your kids. You should see my acoustic guitar collection- YIKES!

You had me at guitar! I mostly play electric (couple of Gibsons and Fenders), but do own a few acoustics too. I have a 90's era Taylor 414 that is a dream to play and also a 90's era Washburn Harvest series guitar that I just love. And up at my mountain cabin, I keep a beater 70's era Takamine F-340 which is a spot on ripoff copy of a Martin D-18.

I too would like to see evidence of metal on a magnet via video or pic . Just out of curiosity of course. I would / can’t say know I spit on ICE’s . Certainly not as much as I’ve read of others more knowledge on this topic

I can tell in that short note that you don’t play. It’s like you say you twist your drain plug off. Only people who don’t change their own oil or aren’t mechanical would say that.

As others have written here, that's one heck of a oil regime you have there.

But one suggestion would be to not perform your "e." process of cold starting it when you're not going to be driving it. If anything, that will make your "10. Cold Starts" worse and not better as you are expecting.
