I wonder which cell phone mount the driver who rear ended you was using.

    YIKES.

Frame swap is about 5 days for 2 techs, could be a little less on yours but that's what my 2010 took for the recall. I've heard 12-13K for the job plus you have other damage of course.

Depends on state of course but at least one smart thing in MA is the person who rear ended OP bears responsibility for both the vehicles. Had this happen to me about 20 years ago though it might have changed since.

I would ask for a replacement value as to me this truck is a write off. I would not accept it to be repaired. I have a clause in my insurance that says replacement value for up to 3 years of the original price of the truck. No depreciation nothing full value but then I live in Canada things might be different. Just saying.

So GEICO is the at fault driver's insurance and and they are only covering your rental expense up to $1500?! Wow. Throw that in your litigation.

I would never use those big insurances that you see on TV Geico, General etc etc. Someone pays for those adds You. Reputable insurances do not advertise they go with word of mouth which is the best way.

No, they're my insurance company. I'm using my insurance since the idiot only had minimum coverage. Easier to let GEICO fight Prudential to reimburse them for the repair than deal with it myself. Yes, Prudential is legally required to reimburse me for the totality of my alternative transportation costs after that $1500 from GEICO runs dry though.

I tell my wife all the time, "most people can't drive"! I equate it to a loaded gun... a side hit at 30mph+ can kill you. Red light runners, +25mph over speed limit weaving in and out, distracted driving, etc... Speed differentiation is so dangerous. I'm a racer so not against speed. There is a place for it. Glad your OK and no kids got hurt near the bus from this person!!!

I don't remember the rental policy limit being that high. I would double check if its 1500. Usually its 900 or 1200 max. You can extend it out further by getting the cheapest rental from enterprise. I'm not familiar with your state so I could be wrong.

Have to disagree. Geico has some of the best rates in Florida and their claims handling is excellent. Plus you can talk to someone about your policy or claim 24/7. I say this from first hand experience.

Geico has great rates, but their claim service is mid to low tier compared to the more expensive companies. You really do get what you pay for. Geico doesn't offer OEM part replacement for any new vehicles last I heard. So if you crash your 2021 you are looking at fighting them to get new parts. Also they will try and pay out the least amount as possible on claim.

I've had 2 claims with them and they worked right with the shop. Their claims guy was out there quick and I had no problem with them agreeing with the shop or getting OEM parts. Fortunately I haven't tested with the truck yet, but I have with a Prius.

Depends on the adjuster, sounds like the guy you had was with them a while. Like I mentioned in a earlier post, they hire new reps without any experience. So its the luck of the draw.

Yea the guy at the shop mentioned they'd been working with this particular Geico adjuster for a while and they had a relationship. They had to do a supplement after the initial estimate and they were able to agree over the phone. Also keep in mind that here in Florida the more expensive companies can mean a premium difference of $1,000 or more for 6 months, so we have to be cost conscious to an extent. And that is with a clean driving record and credit.

From what I know speaking with a few adjusters from Florida. The severity is really high in certain parts of the state which is probably why your premiums can range from really high to affordable. They were complaining about the crazy fraud rings, insurance scams and sketchy body shops. I think Florida is known for their medical insurance fraud.

Keep your record clean, no accidents and you shouldn't run into any issues.
