    Well guys sorry to say I'm out, we traded up for a Tundra. We had a few issues with the 16 that never sat right with me and we plan on getting a bigger camper soon so we'll need a bigger truck anyways. I thought I'd miss the Tacoma but not after driving the Tundra, the drivetrain in it is amazing and the gas mileage isn't at all as bad as I thought it would be. We took a trip to Cleveland a couple weeks ago and I averaged around 18, Tacoma got 19 on the same trip. The 5.7L just hummed along at 70mph through the hills of PA never having to downshift, completely different. We had a TRD Sport and the Tundra is a Limited Crewmax so it has a few more bells and whistles. I've done quite a bit of work to it already. New TRD grill, color matched bumper ends, door handles and mirror caps. Husky xact liners, linex, Salex organizer and tray, tinted front windows, Rigid fog light kit and I had the headlights retrofitted. I have 5100's waiting to be installed and tires and coming soon.

    Here's the before;

    And here it is now;

    I got a 17 Tacoma limited when my 4Runner was in for service and that was pretty sweet, it drove a lot different than our 16 did. Not sure if they made more updates to the trans but it felt much better.

    Congrats, Nice ride, good mod too!
    I get 23 plus on my taco and drive a lot so for me good mileage is important

    Best of luck
    Cheers!

    You should really change the thread title to "Traded up to the Tundra".

    Thank you :)

    Yeah I work shift work and she's a teacher and off all summer so it's not bad for us. I never saw real high numbers in the Tacoma cause everywhere we went we traveled through mountains and it wasn't great with hills. 21mpg was probably the best I saw. The Tundra only has a little over 1000 miles on it so it should get better.

    You're probably right but I don't know how to edit the title so eh.

    Congrats man, Tundra would be my choice at the moment if my hand was forced. And your Tundra looks great!

    I like mid-size trucks more, but a Tundra would be my full size option. Congrats!

    I love my Spruce 2nd gen, but I would pause for a minute to definitely consider a runner. I'm interested in seeing what they do with the 2018 T4R remodel....may not be in a Tacoma after that.....just depends.

    I test drove a T4R just to satisfy my curiosity and compared to my taco, the interior bits and pieces are more solid, less rattling, less road noise, more bells and whistles.....just really nice.....definitely tempting.

    They rock. But my fiancee keeps swiping mine and her BMW is getting ready to croak. I see a Taco in my future. In the meantime, I'll have some fun with the runner.

    Unless you absolutely need one I wouldn't get rid of the 4Runner, I don't think you'd like the new drivetrain in the Tacoma after driving the 4Runner.

    I think the 4Runner is by far the best vehicle Toyota has in its lineup. The quality of materials, standard options, resale value, it's still made in Japan and the bulletproof drivetrain. You get a lot for your money and I'll be holding on to mine for a long time.
