Blistein 5100's, 1" add a leaf, frontline grille guard, 265/75r16 coopers, herculined grille/bumpers/fenderflares. TACO truck ;)
So to get it out of the way
2008 dbl cab short bed 4wd
    Bilstein 5100's front OME 886's
    (Set at 2nd to bottom)
Rear is bilstein 1", AAL 2" (brand ltr from lowrangeoffroad)
    Post rear leafs TSB.
    LR SPC UCA
front HUB bearings froma guy on here who presses them.
    MOOG tie rod ends
    MOOG balljoints
    MOOG LCA bushings
    Carrier bearing replacement
    ECGS diff bushing
    All main drive shaft u-joints
    <all has been done with in 2 1/2 years>

I originally thought this was an issue from the front suspension, seeing as how I had just replaced a torn CV boot. But after extensive torquing and hunting, I know it is the rear.

All front components torqued to proper spec. Everything from cam bolts to shock mounts, center crossmember bolts....

Down the line, all U-joints greased, yoke splines greased, bottom of shock mount torqued, tops torqued as well. U-bolts torqued to 80ftlbs and threadlocked.

Now the issue itself is easily re created while going over a speed bump or deep enough pot hole at slow speeds. It ONLY happens when say one wheel is on the speed bump and the other is not. Does this for both sides. If I hit the speed bump evenly then nothing. !!ONLY DURING ARTICULTION!! I get a nice "clunk" or "pop" type noise. When on so much as an uneven dirt road, it sounds like the fucking things gonna fall apart.

If you're going to be the dick cheese who just says "use the search" please go ahead and "use the back button" I've been searching for a week and haven't found it. Some get close, then they find their issue, I try it out and nothing. None have seemed to describe it as "only during articulation" this is not axle warp. I do not get it from hard stops or take offs.

Anyone been down this exact road? :frusty::help:

O, almost forgot. Leaf pack mounts all torqued as well.

Planned on taking a good hard look at my leafs tomorrow. Maybe pulling them apart but it would have to be both sides in that case. It seems you can hear/feel it coming from different sides depending of which tire is up.

    Unfortunately no GoPro.

Was thinking to maybe just lift one side and see what's up. I only just tonight was able to re create the issue.

Yes! Some what like that. Started the same. Was kind of a once in a blue moon "did I just hear something?" Kind of thing and then now it's constant.

Bed bolts are tight. Yes the 4 leaf pack. I mentioned 1" and 2" because the bilstein shock is 1" extra and the AAL adds 2".
As for the noise. As with any, it's hard to define. Sounds like metal or springs coming unloaded or rubbing against each other.

No. Shocks do not give lift, coils/leafs do. Shocks dampen the collapse of coils/leafs as well as regulate the extension/return to normal of the coil/leaf

Do I have to say it again?
Does it say 1" extra lift? Or did you think that's what I meant because you're a know it all who gets his jollies trying to be cool on a forum.

Have you ever figured this out? (2 year revival) mine clunks if I grab the bedside and rock it side to side/laterally. Still troubleshooting it.

Yea. There was one loose bed bolt. But I think it's just 200k+ miles of wear and tear and the axle shafts moving a bit.

Did anyone figure this out? Mine has the same clunk. I did some research and some people said to check the leaf spring bushings. I took a pry bar and wedged it between the front-most leaf spring mount and the spring eye pried around a bit and was able to make it clunk at a fraction of the magnitude as it does when driving. The front most bushings were worn out almost into a conical shape, with no bushing remaining between the spring and the wall of the spring mount.

I ordered some of the Energy Suspension leaf spring bushings and Speedway Motors leaf spring liners (to address the squeak) and have only had time to complete the passenger side so far. The clunk is still present, but it may or may not go away after I replace the driver side bushings.

P.S. I have a DCSB with 5100's on all corners, OME 885's, and an Icon 1.5 3-leaf AAL w/ overload removed from the pack.

Mine had the clunking noise in reverse going down steep driveway. Always thought it was coming from front end. Also had the clunking noise when truck was shook side to side. Replaced Toyotas crappy TSB leaves with Old Man ARB springs and all is well.

Mine did same. Replacing springs cured it. Weak springs or worn bushings is my guess. My bushings didn’t look bad at all.

Damn I have 3 year old leaf springs from the frame replacement and an wheelers add-a-leaf. The damn bushings can clunk away if that's the problem.
