Yes, if you use the unlock button but you use the lock button for the starting sequence only. When truck is running you click unlock button for it to stop. If I understand what it is you are saying.

Just pointing out that when locking the doors all doors lock on the first press. The second press and the third are to create a sequence that is highly unlikely to happen on its own

You are right it is the opposite when unlocking doors 1 click unlocks front and 2nd lick unlocks back doors. As for the other I was just guessing why we would have to click 3 times. Oh well like I said this system is weird compared to after markets ones.

The part I dislike is truck shuts down when opening door, what’s the point. My 2021 subs has much better remote start, does not shut down, and to drive u just push start button

Yes, this is an odd way to configure a remote start. My aftermarket unit on my old 2010 Tacoma operated similar to how you describe- truck is running but you had to put the key in the ignition and turn it to the “on” position prior to touching the brake petal.

Then again, the OEM remote start was free with my truck, so I’ll just deal with the double start thing.

FWIW, even with my old aftermarket unit I’d routinely have to start the truck again as it is remarkably hard to get into the driver’s seat and not automatically put your foot on the brake petal.

Same as you guys I hate the Taco OEM remote start for the same reasons but it came free on the truck so got to live with it or have a aftermarket one installed.
Mind you they were key operated not push button.

    Just bought it...
Yea, that’s beyond annoying. My F150’s (2013) remote start stays running and you just stick the key in the ignition and turn it on and you’re to go.
