Every slider out there looks the same, and for good reason, the design works. Well, it just wasn't enough for me...

So you can bet your ass I was excited to do something different for my truck.

All credit here goes to @GHOST SHIP

He said it himself, he doesn't advertise, but the guy has talent and I thought I'd make it known here.

    So, to the point right?

    20191016_115113.jpg

Here you can see the custom sliders are nearly complete; this is all with minimal measurements from @eon_blue 's truck, and with pictures I sent via text of my bumper.

With only 1-2 measurements of my own, the kick up came to match my bumper better than I thought it could have.

Talk to me about shooting, and we'll talk all damn day. Welding? I am fucking clueless. So while I enjoyed a Fiesta mango something (I can still hear the maracas lol), I watched as my truck got worked on.

Here, my sliders are getting 'test fit' because Sergio insists that they should be perfect in my eyes; and that they were! The devil is in the details though, from the angle of the kick up, in addition to the angle of the slider itself, clearance for the fender, to the little gussets welded on the feet; everything is perfect.

If you're in southern CA, and looking to get something done by someone who takes pride in his work, don't hesitate in hitting up Sergio. Or you could be a fool like me, and drive 10 hours roundtrip to get work done lol it was definitely worth it though.

Until next time, when I figure out a front bumper.

Thanks so much for your kind words, man. It was a pleasure working with you and working on your truck. I’ve been fabricating (quietly) for some time now and I take a lot of pride in my work. I see too many backyard mechanics/welders doing questionable work and I know it takes a lot of trust to have someone perform custom work for you without seeing any previous work or them being an established company. Looking forward to the next project.

And thank you for the exceptional work!

For once, I'm actually looking forward to 'fucking shit up' and putting these sliders to use which will come next year after my 4x4 conversion.

I just need to figure out a tube bumper. I know @eon_blue needs a bumper as well so maybe we can use his rig as a guinea pig, of course if he wishes to donate his time in the name of science o_O

    Thank you!

when @Kwikvette showed me pictures of his truck and his rear bumper, I knew I wanted to incorporate the kickup to match aesthetically but I’d also added a lot of function to allow him to setup and breakdown his RTT. I’m currently building another set for a 2nd gen access cab but it’ll have a much smaller kickup due to the rear half-door.

Is this the heap you're bringing to Moab next year??

    :D

    That's a solid design, I like it.

I'm still a total goober with the welder, but my new 210 MVP makes me look better, lol.

    Lol

I'm not mechanically inclined to do more than swapping components on my Tacoma.

4x4 with manual locking hubs will suffice.
