I got the NVX 0/1 AWG Power Wiring kit - 20' of 0 AWG Power OFC, 3' of 0/1 AWG Ground OFC, 9-10' of 4 AWG power and ground OFC for distribution to the amps, two power/ground distribution blocks, and 1 fuse holder and 1 fuse - all that for $130 from Sonic Electrix. The same Kicker power wire kit at the time was $200 or more - as far as I could tell, it was the same as the NVX kit. That's about as cheap as power wire will get before buying stuff sold on Amazon and ebay - then putting your own kit together.

NVX x-series RCA noise rejecting cables were purchased separately. No issues at all when it comes to power or signal.

Not a bad price for 0/1. If you're going over 1500w RMS, I'd fo sure go that route. I'm a fan of the Kicker wiring myself. The PK4 kit runs $99 at best buy, but they will price match walmart for $65 if you ask.

Ehh.. It's good wiring, but that kit is way more stuff than you need. You wouldn't need the long 4 channel RCA's, or the spool of speaker wire.

I have all kicker wire in my truck. It's nice. The only thing that's not kicker in my system is my bass amp.

When it comes to power cabling, I prefer to use a little extra budget for the next kit size above what the current goal is. Nothing is worse than ripping out wire and having it sit in a box when it’s time to upgrade (although 4 gauge can become direct distro wiring since amps usually receive 4 gauge now instead of 8 gauge). It can always go int the next vehicle Nobody wants to buy used car stereo wire either.

Here is the power kit I bought - looks like it’s cheaper now, possibly discontinued:

There are other versions and options for the kit.

I've had Kicker before...would do Kicker again..but if I ever wanted to upgrade the head unit...they don't have it...and we've established my brand mix problem hahah

Alpine has just such good head units! When I switched, that's all I've ever used since.

On this 9 wire multiconductor you said two rolls? This is 20ft, will I seriously need 40ft of that? Hahah!

You don't need 40ft, but I wasn't able to make it there and back with just 20. i tried my hardest. It came out to like 12 feet each direction. HOWEVER I ran mine from the radio, over to the passenger side kick panel, down the door sills, then back across the back seat to the drivers side. So if your amp is on the passenger side, you could probably make a single roll work.

You won't need 2 rolls. I only used one. You won't utilize the stock wiring at all that goes to the speakers so you don't have to go back to the head unit from the amps.

See I did it using factory wiring. It's actually good wiring compared to most vehicles (given he's only going to be running 50w rms through it)

You are going to build your harness with the speedwire. It will connect behind the deck in between the head unit and the trucks harness. If you are running mids and tweets you can't use the factory wiring to go from the amp to the speakers though. You will not want to do a run back to the head unit from the amp to get the signal to the door speakers. You will want to run wire from amp to the crossover then from the crossover into the doors and up to the tweeters in the dash.

If he is running mids and tweets for the front he can't use the factory wiring because of the crossovers.

    Why not? I did.
********* makes a harness and has a whole video on it. It's pricey though so I made my own
