Another Stupid Question

Today when I started my truck the orange triangle light "i' came on. I know that stands for information but my message center displays "no messages". However the "need maintenance soon" or some s*** like that displays for a brief time then goes away. I have a little over 9K on the truck and changed the oil/filter, etc. at 5K. I know how to reset the maintenance indicator to "zero". Question...will doing this clear the "triangle light"? Looked in manual but couldn't find the reference to the indicator and also looked in Utube but couldn't find how to clear the indicator light.

 

every 4500 miles since last maint reset a reminder comes on then goes away

at 5000 miles it stays on

do the 5000 mile maintenance is what it means

 

It's a notification that your vehicle is due for service. Not sure if it will go off when you reset the maintenance indicator. You may need to get the dealer service dept to reset the warning.

 

Thanks for the replies--thread closed! It was letting me know service was due. I wasn't holding down the reset (Trip A) on the odometer until it fully cleared. That's why the notification wouldn't clear. As usual TW members come through!! "sdsufer"--FYI--it does go off when you reset the maintenance reminder.
