Good to hear your ok. But how exactly did you collide? Did he stop in front of you after he cut over or something?

Be rolling 80 in the HOV lane and have someone jump in front of you 50ft away thinking they can accelerate and tell me if you can stop.

Luckily I live in Panama City, FL so we don't have HOV lanes. Only time I've ever been on the same highway with HOV was in Norfolk.

To me, it looks like the GMC held up way better than the Taco.

I didn't get a ticket. Two witnesses stopped and gave their contact info. They saw the Yukon cut across the dividers into the HOV lane ahead of me.

Exactly. I was going about 75 when the other driver crept into my lane. I stood on the brakes but couldn't stop in time.

Are HOV lanes basically carpool lanes?

Yes, here they are 2 or more people.

Anyway OP, glad your ok, and congrats on the new truck. This always sucks to see, but its always good to see the truck protect the passengers so well.

Yes. Must have at least two people in the vehicle to use the HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle) lane.

The GMC was able to drive away while I needed to be towed. The GMC Yukon is a much heavier vehicle and this one was loaded down.

I hit him so hard that a piece of luggage flew out of his rear window.

My bed was full of firewood. You can see a few sicks on the road.

    thank God.

there are plenty of things in American metropolis cities we don't have here in NW Florida...and it's a blessing.

    Federal extortion.

If Federal highway funds are used for a freeway improvement project, it MUST include the addition of an HOV lane in a metropolitan area.

Sooner or later, all of your interstates will have them.

Good to hear the tacoma saved you.

    Nice looking new ride.

The HOV lanes around here i think people think they are the speeding lanes.

When he hit the brakes he probably nosedived enough for the Tacomas frame to go under the frame of the GMC, if it had been a frame to frame collision there would most likely be more damage to the GMC.
