Another Tacoma Frame Rust Issue....

Strange, do you do a lot of beach driving near salty water? I'm on my third Tacoma (03, 07, 13) and i've never even had a spec of rust on any of them.

 

Was talking in general not on my tacoma . Tacoma dies not have any rust on the frame.. Had a z71 that I had to re surface and coat but it saw alot of water. Rest were restorations an have no clue where they came from. Was just giving perspective and pointing out his rust is not anything to worry about.

That's an innovative solution, I'm very interested to see how it turns out! I got the Fluid Film undercoat kit #2 from Kellsport with the pro gun and 360 degree nozzle upgrade for around $130. You can use "TACOMAWORLD" or something like that for 10% off.

I did a ton of research first and it's highly recommended. My truck is new so I'm just using this once a year, but if you seal with POR-15 I'd start using fluid film on top of that to deal with any small perforations that will develop.

I put down a big drop cloth and did catch a little overspray but nothing like I expected. I put it on pretty heavy in places and it's been on there for a month now but not a drop of it has hit my driveway.

Yours isn't rusted bad at all though, you could probably just coat it with fluid film every fall, rinse the salt out every spring, and call it good.
