I'm sure it gets annoying for other people too when there are multiple conversations going on in one thread.

Over on Yotatech, a guy posted about replacing his throttle body with basically the only 1st gen model still available. Auto tranny, no cruise control. But he was able to get the cable linkages off, and put his old throttle body linkages on, resolving the issue of the auto and no cruise. Great. I ordered one myself. I have no issue getting the throttle linkage off my old throttle body, but cannot figure out how to get them off the new one.

My old throttle body has a pressed-on washer holding everything on. Pop it off, everything slides out. The new one has a nut. Great. Easier than a pressed-on washer. But once it comes off, nothing slides out. There's something else holding things in place. See photo. I show the nut, I show an arrow pointing to a c-clip, and I show a bracket/linkage. The c-clip is on the back end, not front end of the linkage, so that's not what's holding it in. I just can't understand how to get the bracket to slide off, when it both has one end all the way up at the front, behind the nut I took off, and the other end all the way at the back, against the throttle body itself. I can't slide things off one at a time, in order, like on my old throttle body, because this bracket thing spans the whole deal from one end to the other. You can see it start just behind the nut, then end behind a black plastic spacer.

Can you see what I mean? I can post more photos. The only way to get the bracket thing, right behind the nut, to slide off, is for everything to slide off. But it seems like the front end of the bracket is keeping the stuff behind it from sliding off. But the stuff behind the front end of the bracket is what's keeping the back end of the bracket from sliding off...:D

I've done a lot of work on my trucks, but I've also been guilty of being completely blind to obvious things right in front of my face, so...anybody see something?? The guy on Yotatech who posted about this hasn't been back to the thread or responded to my pm's. Yet. But it's been weeks.
