I'm looking at buying a new set of tires for my 2014 Tacoma DCSB TRD Sport 4X4. I'd like to put 275/65-18s on my truck with the stock suspension. They are taller than the OE size but only marginally wider. Has anyone used this tire size?

The OE tires on the truck now are 265/65-17's. They are 30.6" in diameter with a tread width of 8.4". The 275/70-18's are 33.2" in diameter with a tread width of 8.4".

    Will the 275/70-18's rub?

    Thanks!

You do realize that these tires are a different rim size right? You have a 17" factory tire and are wanting an 18". In order to run that tire you will need 18" rims.

I think there is someone on here w/ 275/75r17s. I could be wrong but it sounds familiar and that tire size should be pretty much the same as 275/70r18.

Hopefully someone with experience chimes in but I swear I remember reading that at one point.

After looking at all the 18" tire sizes, it turns out that the 265/65/18s are one of the few I can get without the "Outlined Raised White Letter" sidewalls. After the last ORWL tire I owned I swore I'd never buy another.

The 265/65/18s are also almost the exact size (diameter = 31.5" and a width of 10.7") as the Michelins I put on my 2007 DCSB TRD Sport 4X4. The 2007 had 265/70-17s (diamter = 31.7" and a width of 10.7"). The tires Michelin LTX MS/2s on the 2007 were great tires (excellent traction in all weather conditions, VERY quite, and predictable handling).

I've pretty well made my decision; I'm going with the 265/65-18s on the 2014. THANKS TO ALL FOR HELPING ME THINK THROUGH THE OPTIONS AND FOR YOUR COMMENTS AND FEEDBACK - TacomaWorld IS THE BEST!

A couple of other thoughts, while both the 265/70-17s (on the 2007) 265/65-18s (targeted for the 2014) will be 1" larger in diameter, the added 1" corrects the slight inaccuracy of the OE speedometer reading.

What I also did not say is the 265/70-17s were both wider and taller than the OE 17" tire; there was no rubbing or interference under any road conditions on the 2007.

THANKS AGIAN. I hope this information helps someone else...
