This isn't a "Is my Taco Totaled" thread because this one is has been and is gone to the great highway in the sky. Actually, it's more likely someone will buy it as a repairable. Maybe.

2015 non TRD with about 160K on the odometer.

It belongs to my neighbor's company, he's the owner. One of his crews was driving to a job and a guy hit them. More of a side swipe, but it caught the lower rear corner of the cab. Pushed the rear wall of the cab forward. Rear door won't open at all.

Too much labor to fix because the interior would have to be stripped out to weld in a new corner panel.

Oh, he's going out to buy another Tacoma because he really liked this one. He "discovered" Toyota because he saw how long my two Tundras lasted. He has a '16 Tundra as well, but he likes the Tacoma because it's easy to park in work zones.

That’s great! Your neighbor runs a business and needs to move on to keep his clients happy.

The damage is not too bad, but considering it is a business truck with more than 30,000 miles per year (total of 160K), then it doesn't make sense to keep it and try to repair. It is not only the rear wall and lower left corner, but the front left side of the bed, and that is hard to repair, as well.

Isn't the bed side a bolt on part? It would seem to be an easy fix if it was just the bedside.

So, my neighbor bought a used 2015 Tacoma Limited. White, four door, 4WD, V6, AT. I took a look at it and it's super clean. I stuck my head underneath quickly and it doesn't have all that much rust at all. The previous owner took good care of it. I don't recall the miles on it, but it's not much.

It had really nice polished wheels that seemed a bit larger than stock, but I'm not sure.

Where does the Limited fit in the hierarchy of trim levels? I looked on line and couldn't get a clear answer.

I suppose you could consider the Limited the "luxury" version of the Tacoma. You get the top end sound system, 18" chrome clad aluminum wheels, some leather tid-bits and the SofTex seat coverings. Also came with the tow package, traction control and heated seats. In its day, it had near the most expensive base price. It's a nice package (as long as you're not allergic to a little chrome) and is as capable as most Tacomas in all but the most serious off roading.

    Cheers.

ETA: Long Bed and also has the premium sound system with HD radio and XM.

Thanks. I wasn't sure about the wheels because the chrome clad wheels seemed aftermarket. Everything you wrote matches what I saw. It was unlocked so I stuck my head in. It looked really clean in and out.

He won't off road it, at least as far as I know. It's actually going to be a company truck and he owns the company. Kind of a shame for that to be a work truck, but I expect it will be the truck he uses the most often. It's good to be the boss!

He'll put a cap on it so he can load it with his equipment and then a ladder rack on top of that.
