I have read the many threads on towing with a Tacoma, but here is my situation. I have a 2008 automatic v6 SR5 that I bought new with a hitch already installed. The dealer insured me I could tow 6500lbs, after 2 years of saving I am ready to buy a trailer and want to make sure I can tow a 5300lb trailer. My window sticker lists a tow hitch option for $455.00 and nothing about the tow package. The manual says I can tow 3500lbs without the tow package, but the actual hitch on the truck states the v6 tacoma can tow 5000lbs with a tongue weight of 500lbs..... Can anyone help me determine what’s my tow limit.... 3500, 5000, or 6500lbs??

    Thanks,
    Jon
