It was close. But we cracked 400 wheel hp so I'm pretty stoked on that still. You have to know when to stop sometimes. The boost is willing but the engine is still very much stock bottom end.

For sure, a reliable (assuming it holds) 480tq is much more impressive than a single 500tq run and then a new engine.

I'm excited to show the full graphs too, like don't get me wrong the peaks are cool and I'm glad we hit em, but now the power comes on earlier and stays up as the RPM keeps going. We learned some things about the 5VZ this time as well, we went at it with the knock ears and did pass after pass of little changes to see what a degree of timing does, what a pound of boost does, what effect those have if we ramp them at different RPM, where additional timing stops making a difference... etc This thing did pass after pass of 470+ lb pulls haha

@6P4 we also ran that 91 pickup with the turbo 2RZ that you saw us building a few pages back. I'll have graphs and everything for that pretty soon too.

    But it made 316whp 338wtq at 15.3psi

How do you feel about the potential of the 2RZ? I know it's been used as the basis for 1000hp drag builds but that's obviously with a ton of work. What's it good for in stock form? Are you already pushing the limit?

It seems excellent. It flows better at the top end then a 5VZ does that's for sure. We would love to be able to turn this one faster because the graph suggests that it would just keep on going if we had the duty cycle turned up. But an abundance of caution kept us from exceeding 6000rpm with stock valve springs and buckets. No concerns on the bottom end though and it isn't knock limited that we could tell. Seems to really like boost and is pretty unstressed

Here's the new graph superimposed over the old. Can pretty much ignore below 3000rpm, it's a difference in how much throttle I use to roll in.

Looks like you picked up a few more mph on the top speed too, must be better aerodynamics from the new windshield

Winter trip got cancelled so truck is in full mothball mode for maint. Working on battery relocate stuff, new radios, air compressor... trying to decide if I want to dump more money and get a Nexus S3... you know normal truck things.

I took the CB out and chopped the mount off my rack. But I am working on getting the GMRS installed and I left a spot for a HAM and ran power for it just in case.
