so i took my 08 DC trd sport for the tsb. it was supposed to be done yesterday but they were behind, then they said noon today, well it was done at 2pm. i go look at it and it seems no higher than before. i take a look underneath and see that they have installed new 2-leaf packs. thats what i had on there WTF? there is 2 leafs plus the overload, i thought i was going to get a new 3 leaf set? i went back in and the guy said that they followed the TSB and this is what was spec'd out for my truck. and that these 2 leafs packs are what they now use for the TSB. it rides no different now than before. i have some number from my receipt.

    t-sb-0305-08

    part #'s
    48210-04550 (RR R spring assy)
    48220-04190 (RR L spring assy)

is this right? what should i do? thanks

Got mine done today. 3 leafs+1 overload. 4 total leafs. Your dealership doesn't know what they are doing.

Part numbers for the new rear leafs SHOULD be 48210-04570 and 48220-04210.

Also, please post the year and type of truck you have so we can help you more.

My dealership rocks and they got it right the first time. Even printed out the alignment sheet for me. +1 for Classic Toyota in Tyler, TX.

OP:Take a copy of the TSB to the techs, and ask them why the incorrect part numbers were installed on your truck. If they give you grief, ask them to see the supposedly updated TSB they were going off of. They probably just read it wrong.

i called the service manager and sure enough they screwed it up, what a waste of my time and theirs. now they have to re-do it all over, re-align it. unreal, he blamed it on the parts dept. who ordered the stuff.

A good tech would check the part numbers to make sure he knew what he was installing before doing it.

I feel bad for you man, but at least it's getting fixed. Make sure they re-align it and give you a spec sheet.

When mine was done they put 4 leafs on one side and 3 on the other. It took me a day to spot it. I only checked one side before I left. You really have to wonder about these people sometimes. Hopefully they'll give you a car to use while they fix their mistake.

I wouldn't put it past them to take the 5100's off and replace with a new set of shocks they ordered for the TSB. Make sure you tell them to leave the 5100's the hell alone.

they said they will fix it for me. i am trying to get the service manager to install my 5100's for me now that they have screwed up already. we will see what he says,

anyway. i am looking to keep a slightly stock raked look on the truck but also want better ground clearance up front (i scrape going over curbs)

i have read a million posts and seen tons of pics, i will be keeping the stock tires and wheels. should i go for .85 or 1.75 on the front billies, i do not like the nose high look at all and i dont want to make the front too stiff so 2.5 is out of the questions.

has anyone tried both 1.75 and .85 ?

I went with 1.75. This link should help you decide.

thanks for that link. i guess everyone has varying results, i feel like it depends on if you have access or double cab. some still look raked at 1.75m, some look nose high at 1.75. i think i will decide based on how it rides at different settings. i dont want it too rough so maybe .85 is for me
