Got away from the truck scene to give my wallet a break, also to focus more on school. I sold my 1998 Tacoma 4x4 before i dumped to much money into it. I was always on the fence on whether or not i was going to keep it. don't get me wrong it was an awesome truck that i beat for two years, and never once left me stranded. The main reason was power.. i knew i wanted more motor, and that i wanted to stick to the reliability of a toyota. Thats were my new, to me, 2000 Tundra 2wd steps in. Purchased the truck a few weeks after selling my tacoma.

Learned a lot from building this truck all myself.
But "Supermoto's" Tundra along with the "Newline built tundra" sparked the want to build a full-size truck.

Tundra came with 285/75/16 american eagle wheels.. all those little bells and whistles.
Few weeks later i landed a great deal on some 315/75/16 BFG KM2's through my job.. through a strut spacer up front for the meantime to clear them.

Blacked out the bumper and mirrors.

The latest mod I've done to it was instal some Jba headers.

    Future plans:
    BTF long travel kit
    2.5 8" Kings
    Jba Ypipe

Some updates, stopped by Btf last Monday to place an order on my kit. Brandon said about 6-8 weeks turn around time. I told him to go ahead and take 8 weeks if he needs it since I still have a lot to do, plus school is starting Monday and will have Almost no time to work on it. 569e87b8817b6dab46a4200ac18b6bdc_7e0fa2aaca09f229452bfabc469a847057fdd5c0.jpg
The Btf dog and a ranger he's building.
Also figured if the truck is on stands i minus well start tearing it town

I decided to instal the kit myself rather than have it installed for the reason that if I ever need to trouble shoot tear down etc I know how to do it myself. Tear down of the stock suspension what actually really simple given that I've never done anything like this.
Now it's just a waiting game/ part look out.
    Needed:
    8" 2.5 coilovers
    Straps
    Bumps
    Lower ball joints
    Spindle gussets
    Steering rack bushings

Cool build! Love to see more Tundras getting modded. Such a great rig with the 2UZ and still only marginally bigger than the 2n Gen Taco's. I love mine... also going LT very soon.

The extra room compared to my first gen is really nice haha, I was looking at second gens before buying this. I would have bought a four door.

Not much has been going on these past couple weeks. Truck has just been sitting on jacks waiting in parts. Kit should be done next weekend. In the mean time I've replaced the steering rack bushings with the total chaos red bushings, mounted up 6" trailer products fiberglass, welded some spindle gussets, pressed I the uniball adapter thing on the spindles.. Just little prep work. 26f4e75ceb433d743c70bb5481453c6c_52b5f656b434cf3d8c3c721ce4155e42146b6319.jpg8d11a83190a5b0c3af31fac58579e4a2_879f8929060ee55d99a582e57977c16cc3436498.jpgc0fd93b2b305985d2b1f889dc32e900c_abab277fb6c0b594fa920a49d8d600604350f896.jpg9041b150ade1349a829f8d3c64d14bf7_12d7f9808b18c091d92b715694cb11739c0f6e69.jpg3b10e54de7edce4139150fe04bbbce90_7231fdf95a51c93979968e8ab337382fc5ae0b21.jpg42b4ed1c340e4834d2f1cbf8b5400514_98b2397625bed68e26d498dc127d6da5eefc2414.jpgcfda18a496c2fbb53cb36334f141e8dd_780aba44c2ba3efbe86f90624d4bf8d337a41e9b.jpg3554b14e92108d99ef74fbd33ed2e1ed_675e9a224e5c1ea8275438605a3190ba18590ec3.jpg

I'm digging the build man! The BTF kit is a great kit. Make sure to plate the heck out of the frame and subframe before you install the kit.

Have some trimming to do to make yhe fenders and bumper line up..
Also just guessing where the track width would be sitting..
Finally starting to look like a truck

Also, been trying to do the timing belt process my self, not very difficult, it's like a puzzle actually haha.. They the timing off while trying to put the belt on which freaked me out, though it I turn the cam a revolution id bend my rods... Took a 17 and rotated then very slowly.. Everything turned smoothly. Got it all timed... I requested next weekend off to have time to finish the truck.

Haven't posted here in a while since I spend most of my time over on Dr..(trader).. I know...
    Anywho

So I recently I met up with Brandon at the off-road swap meet to pick up the kit. While I was there I found a set of 4" 2.0 king bumps that some kid was selling brand new for a price I couldn't really believe. Being patient paid of since I ran into some fox coilovers on Dr for a price I, again, could not believe... They need some lovin', but I figured that would help me learn how to re valve, rebuild, etc. c6d2a7ac42d14c08c038c38aa4764869_8835401e5bcc32ba6c474e7fd5bcc2064d4c67c7.jpgf8288ff262295c1b7790bc32ab6c528d_25c5abfb77ccfc33be2e5e5348673d674ea137ac.jpg68711e104f6dfaffd0430310d465cf90_374b3f9a71b92ce1373262e6d5d6f53247dba68e.jpg509a9ea1717382ce2e58fa13950b3072_064f569b909bceebea06f49d57003dd93fbda560.jpg7c450d26c838cc9623f6548735f632a9_b48b1721432adfc2f9ba1c42aa2bf8d51c508663.jpg3d1ec5ed5990ee557cf80f9435e5880a_0b478e018cdfffc3f9ab6731c72903e98b93392d.jpga8aa3728f8cc6b31425ca53292518bf5_3f47f40d8bdab804787915540182ef34d4a47edb.jpg0297acff13547d51a1d3a31f16202589_49cea35a76a624afccff97d04f9e8770489bdf0d.jpg5d32a7e0bf4f8d35688fac4fcd18c65a_a790d8695383243004f93a340ad17b6911fcca0c.jpge5ab1f78d14aaa48e2c898cd65e8301e_2cb8e51c626d23df784fc676d6375d0d99ca4b6a.jpge04eace15d2eebde7d8bc2aa887ac2c2_617069ba4d36dc3fc111cc621cfef0f1d74fb9ae.jpgd5d088c5611789121d58406e7c61289c_3437dd3961385bc28f20fad2ead6b535e1054b1f.jpge23c3a4dcd18c87cc1b5fc7d87c40221_391a7dfe2894a5fb5e1277ba312d065b2e936b5a.jpg9b7b070e9455ef46a0455fca729004ab_d3dd0f27a23836f5c6c16ce5e727209c7a752fa0.jpg2910ff3c50c5554ccaf2d4e35ae42f27_dfb074b8a5109dabf3efded77d52a6e80f8316be.jpg
