I am planning on ordering a set of General Grabber ATX tires 285/75/16 with a set of 16x8 wheels with 4.5” backspace and 0mm offset. Can anyone advise if I’ll have running issues? Maybe someone with a familiar setup? I currently have icon 2.5’s on the front lifted about 1.5” and icon shocks in the rear with no lift. Will probably add leaf packs this summer but don’t want to do it right now. Thanks in advance!

You'll more thank likely have some rubbing on the cab mount at near full lock of the steering wheel. If you want to avoid rubbing the cab mount, 265/75R-16 should do the trick

If I were to use a different wheel offset would I be able to achieve the 285 tires without cutting? I’ve heard of guys making them fit without cutting but I know that could be dependent on wheel fitment. I also have 1.5” lift in front

A higher offset helps as it keeps the tire/wheel assembly tucked within the deepest portion of the fender well. The trouble with higher offset wheels is that they can cause 285's to rub the upper control arm.

The other variable is the tire itself and by that I mean tires are a lot like shoe sizes, some run larger than others even in the same size.

An 8 to 8.5 inch wide wheel with around +20 offset may do the trick, however, a test fit should really been done to confirm.

Ok what about a 275/70/17? Slightly smaller than the 285. If I’m doing wheels anyway would this fit?

3rd Gen Members have reported success with minor rubbing when fitting 275/70R-17's with factory wheels.

With that being said, a higher offset aftermarket wheel and 275/70R-17's should work well, but you still may have some rubbing around the mud flap and inner fender liner. It's possible you may kiss the cab mount as well depending on the wheel dimensions.
