I think he's talking about the entire antenna assembly, including the base. Sounds like he broke it off at the carwash.

Figured something was amiss, since you could change spark plugs. :)

Have you tried peeling back the plastic fender liner from inside the wheel well?

ok.....its not that bad of a job.just replaced mine.couple of tricks, move inner fender well out of the way by removing those mother f#@$!*& plastic clip things.i would recomend to get a couple extra cause they break easy, there is a 10mm bolt up in there that clamps to the mask.and remove the glove box to get in behind there easier.other than that......go at it

That starts tomorrow. Removing the finder splash guard is correct to get to the main mounting bracket. However you have to remove several interior pices along with the raido. from what i could find this is the only way. not a problem for me. just seeing if there ar any short cuts.

when I was removing my fenders to put my glassworks on, the base was impossible to separate from the fender so I ended up just cutting the antenna...still havent replaced it....

FWIW, After my antenna broke I had it replaced with a Metra universal mount power antenna at Best buy for about $100.00 bucks. It worked with the factory radio which does have an antenna trigger. YMMV
    Good luck

Don't bother fixing it! I did the same thing on a tree branch years ago. My philosophy is that stuff that falls off the truck probably didn't belong there in the first place. Mud flaps, bumpers... Anyhow, I installed one of these for less $ than the parts to fix the busted factory antenna. In case that link doesn't work, Google "motrocycle hidden antenna". If you are set on fixing the factory atenna & if you don't have a it will help you see what's involved.

    good luck!
